התוכן זה לא מספיק להיות "זקן - זה שקנה חכמה" שלומד תורה לעצמו, אלא צ"ל גם הענין (שחז"ל למדו ממ"ש [בשני דפ' חיי שרה] "ואברהם זקן", שאברהם הי') "זקן ויושב בישיבה": למסור שיעורי תורה ברבים, או, אם בינתיים אינו שייך לזה, לדאוג שתהי' "ישיבה" במקומו בה יוכלו ללמוד תורה ברבים. וכמ"ש לאחרונה בענין "תן לי יבנה וחכמי'", שיש להשתדל שבמקום שקיימת ישיבה - שיתוסף בזה בכמות ובאיכות, ובמקום שאין ישיבה - להקים ישיבה! ונחיצות ההשתדלות בזה בתקופה זו במיוחד מובן עפ"י מאחז"ל "אני חומה זו תורה" שתורה מגינה על בנ"י, ומכיון שכל ישראל הם "קומה אחת שלימה", הנה ע"י לימוד התורה שלו בכ"מ שהוא, נפעל עי"ז הגנה על כל בנ"י בכל מקום שהם. ועי"ז זוכים למ"ש בהמשך לזה "וה' ברך את אברהם בכל", עד שזוכים ל"עולמך תראה בחייך" ע"ד מאחז"ל עה"פ בנוגע לאברהם.א' השיחות דהתוועדות יום ג' פ' חיי שרה, כ' מרחשון ה'תשל"ה ל"הנחה פרטית" או התרגום ללה"ק של השיחה: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=18-11-2024 Synopsis It’s not enough to be an “elder – this is one who has acquired wisdom” who learns Torah for oneself. Rather, one must emulate Avraham, who was “an elder and would sit in yeshiva,” as our Sages derive from the verse “Avraham was old” (in sheini of Parashas Chayei Sarah). That is, one must give Torah classes for the public, and if one isn’t holding there yet, he must make sure there’s a yeshivah in his city where Torah can be studied publicly. As discussed lately regarding Rabban Yochanan ben Zakai’s request to “Give me Yavneh and its Sages” – one must see to it that wherever there is a yeshivah, it should be expanded in quality and quantity, and wherever there is no yeshiva – one should be established. This is especially important now, as our Sages taught, “I am a wall – this refers to Torah” – Torah protects the Jewish people. Since all Jews are one body, one Jew studying Torah wherever he is brings protection to all Jews everywhere.
