(2) A lesson for Ahavas Yisroel from Sheini of Parashas Ki Seitzei: The verse says, “You shall not see your brother’s ox or sheep straying and ignore them; you shall return them to your brother.” Even if “your brother is not close to you or if you do not know him…” nevertheless it is forbidden to hide and refrain from helping him.
