התוכן איתא במדרש "לא נברא זהב אלא בשביל בית המקדש". זאת אומרת, שהעולם כפי שהוא יכול להתקיים ולהתנהל בסדר וביושר בלי זהב (ובאותיות אחרות – בלי "לוקסוס" (מותרות)), וזה שהקב"ה ברא זהב ה"ז בשביל ביהמ"ק. ובפשטות, דכמו שלא מקשטים דיר של בהמות כמו שמקשטים דירת בני-אדם, ועד"ז מובן, שכאשר בונים בית להקב"ה – משכן ומקדש או ביהכנ"ס וביהמ"ד, צריך שיהא ניכר בו את החשיבות שהוא מיחס לאלקות ורוחניות ועד כמה שהם תופסים מקום אצלו, עי"ז שאע"פ שעבור בניית ביתו הפרטי ה"ה מסתפק בכסף ונחושת, הנה לבניית בית להקב"ה ה"ה משתמש בזהב דוקא. וזהו הטעם שהקב"ה נותן פרנסה בהרחבה, כדי שהאדם יבין בשכלו ויבחר בבחירתו החפשית לנצל את האפשרויות ואת הרחבות שניתן לו, לא לעניניו הגשמיים אלא לענינים רוחניים – לנתינת הצדקה או לבניית בביכהנ"ס או ביהמ"ד – בהרחבה. משיחת י"א ניסן ה'תשל"ו ל"הנחה פרטית" או התרגום ללה"ק של השיחה: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=12-02-2024 Synopsis The Midrash states, “Gold was created only for the sake of the Beis Hamikdash.” Meaning, the can function without gold (or other luxuries), and the only reason it was created was for the Beis Hamikdash. Just as one doesn’t decorate a barn the way he decorates his own house, it is obvious that when building a house for Hashem – a Mishkan or Mikdash or shul or beis midrash – the building must reflect the special importance it has to us. Therefore, if we suffice with silver and copper for our homes, we must use gold for Hashem’s home.
