התוכן 1) בנוגע לעשרת-ימי-תשובה כותב הרמב"ם (הל' תשובה) "נהגו כל בית ישראל להרבות בצדקה ובמעשים טובים ולעסוק במצוות מראש השנה ועד יום הכפורים" יתר מכל השנה", ומפרט את ענין הצדקה במיוחד אף שזה נכלל ב"מצוות" וכו'. ואף שפלא הדבר שענין זה לא מובא בטור ובשו"ע (שלכן לא מביאו אדה"ז בשולחנו) אע"פ שהם מביאים כו"כ הנהגות הקשורות לעשרת-ימי-תשובה ובכלל מביאים הם לשונות של הרמב"ם וכו', אבל בנוגע לפועל, מכיון שהרמב"ם כותבו בפירוש, ברור הדבר שזוהי הוראה‏ – ‏"נהגו כל בית ישראל"! 2) יש להסביר לכאו"א מישראל ענינם של עשרת-ימי-תשובה, כלשון רבותינו נשיאינו שזהו זמן "קירוב המאור (הקב"ה) אל הניצוץ (הנשמה)", ו"התגלות המאור אל הניצוץ"‏ – ‏בימים אלו אין צורך להתייגע כדי "למצוא" את ה' וכו' אלא ה' נמצא קרוב ממש ועל-יד כאו"א מישראל! ועליו רק לעשות את ה"כלי" כדי שענין זה יפעל פעולתו‏.‏ב' חלקים מהתוועדות ו' תשרי ה'תשל"ח ל"הנחה פרטית" או התרגום ללה"ק של השיחה: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=16-09-2026 Synopsis (1) Regarding the Ten Days of Teshuvah, the Rambam writes (in Hilchos Teshuvah): “The entire House of Israel is accustomed to increase in tzedakah and good deeds and to engage in mitzvos from Rosh Hashanah until Yom Kippur more than throughout the entire year” – he specifies tzedakah in particular, even though it is already included in “mitzvos” etc. Although it is surprising that this does not appear in the Tur and Shulchan Aruch (and therefore the Alter Rebbe does not cite it in his Shulchan Aruch either), despite the fact that they do cite a number of practices associated with the Ten Days of Teshuvah, and they do generally cite from the Rambam etc. – nevertheless, in practice, since the Rambam writes this explicitly, it is clear that this constitutes a directive – it is a “custom of the entire House of Israel.” (2) The significance of the Ten Days of Teshuvah should be explained to every Jew; in the words of our Rebbeim, it is a time of “the luminary (Hashem) drawing close to the spark (the soul),” and “the revelation of the luminary to the spark”– during these days there is no need to toil to “find” Hashem, etc.; rather, Hashem is close to and right beside every Jew.
