This transformation creates a new reality, like the effect of teshuvah, through which “intentional sins become like merits,” a transformation from one extreme to the other. When one encounters a Jew who is on the level of “pur” (as a result of being “taken captive among the nations), one must “turn him around” until he begins to dance with the greatest joy (ad d’lo yada – to the point of “not knowing”) from the privilege of being one whose “laws are different.” Despite the fact that “We are still the servants of Achashverosh,” and the name of the Yom Tov remains “Purim,” nevertheless we reveal that “hu hagoral” (“it is the lot”) – something that transcends reason and intellect (“lo yada”).
