יום ג' פ' כי תשא, י"ד אדר‏ – ‏חג הפורים, ה'תשפ"ו

התוכן "פורים" הוא החג היחיד ששמו אינו בלשון הקודש! ובמ"ש במגילה "הפיל פור הוא הגורל" זה מודגש – שהמילה בלה"ק היא "גורל" ומלת "פור" היא משפה אחרת! והפלא הוא שהרי אחת הזכויות שעל ידם נגאלו ישראל ממצרים (שבא לאחרי ובסמיכות ל"גאולת פורים") היא – "שלא שינו את לשונם"! וההוראה מזה בהקדים מ"ש במגילה "ישנו עם אחד מפוזר ומפורד בין העמים" – גם כאשר בנ"י הם במצב של "מפוזר ומפרד" – רואים בגלוי וזה העיקר אצלם, שהם "עם אחד" ע"י ש"דתיהם שונות". ואדרבה – מצב ה"פירוד" מחזק את האחדות. ובכן פעולתה של התוועדות זו צריכה להתבטא בהענין של (שם החג) "פורים", בלשון פרסית: גם יהודי שאינו יודע עדיין לה"ק יש להודיעו ע"ד פורים ולא להמתין עד שידע ע"ד שאר עניני תורה ומצוות! ועד"ז כשרואה דבר חולין ("פור") – עליו לראות בו את התכלית – "הוא הגורל" – להפוך אותו לענין קדושה ויו"ט, ובאופן דשמחה "עד דלא ידע" עוד יותר מיו"ט דפסח! This is surprising, considering that one of the merits by which the Jewish people were redeemed from Egypt is that “they did not change their language.” The lesson can be understood based on the verse in the Megillah, “There is one people that is scattered and dispersed among the peoples...”: Even when the Jewish people are “scattered and dispersed,” what is seen openly, and what is primary for them, is the fact that they are “one people,” which is due to the fact that “their laws are different.” To the contrary, the fact that they are “separate” strengthens their unity. Therefore, the effect of this farbrengen must be one that expresses the name of the Yom Tov – the word “Purim” in the Persian language: Even a Jew who doesn’t yet know Lashon HaKodesh must be informed about Purim, and one should not wait until after this Jew learns about other areas of Torah and mitzvos first. Similarly, when one sees something mundane (“pur”), he must see the inner purpose within it: “it is the goral” – to transform it into something holy and a Yom Tov, and one whose joy reaches the point of ad d’lo yada – even greater than the Yom Tov of Pesach.
