התוכן [המשך] ועד"ז בנוגע המענה לשאלה הנ"ל, איך מובן ששייך להשפיע על כל העולם "לעשות צדקה ומשפט", שיש בזה ב' גישות – "הגדיל" ו"הפליא". "הגדיל" – מסבירים להם עפ"י שכל: מגלים לכל אלו שעדיין אינם מתנהגים באופן של "צדקה ומשפט" – שרצונם האמיתי הוא שיהי' "צדקה ומשפט" בעולם, דבלי זה יכול הדבר להזיק להם. אבל כדי שה"צדקה ומשפט" יהי' מיוסד על "ושמרו דרך ה'", מכיון שזהו רצונו ית' וצריך לציית לו (ולא מפני שזהו תועלת אישית), ע"ז צ"ל ה"הפליא": כ"א צריך להכיר בנפלאות והשג"פ שרואה בחייו האישיים, ובכללות העולם (כמו זה שמליוני אנשים השתחררו פתאום מעבודת פרך ללא שום מלחמה מצדם אלא מבחוץ וכו'), וחייב להודות שזהו בכח הקב"ה, שהוא הבעה"ב לא רק של איש פרטי אלא של כללות העולם. ובמילא צריכים לציית לו. Similarly, regarding the question of how it makes sense logically that one can influence the entire world “to do righteousness and justice,” there are two approaches, “great things” and “wondrous things.” “Great things” means to explain rationally to those who do not yet conduct themselves with righteousness and justice that deep down they desire righteousness and justice in the world, because otherwise, they are liable to get harmed themselves. But for the righteousness and justice to be founded upon “keeping the way of Hashem,” meaning (not for personal benefit but) because this is Hashem’s will, which must be obeyed – this requires “wondrous things”: every person must recognize the wonders and the Hashgacha Pratis he experiences in his own life and in the world at large (such as the miracle of millions of people suddenly being freed from slavery without any effort on their own part, entirely due to forces outside them etc.). One must acknowledge that these wonders are performed by Hashem, who is Master not only of the individual but of the entire world, and therefore one must obey Him.
