from The Daily Sicha - השיחה היומית
משיחת "זאת חנוכה" ה'תשל"ה ל"הנחה פרטית" או התרגום ללה"ק של השיחה: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=14-12-2023 Synopsis After a day like Shabbos or Yom Tov ends, we long for it until it comes around again; this longing is supposed to inspire a person to do things that reflect the special day for which he longs. As we find regarding Melaveh Malkah on Motza’ei Shabbos, Isru Chag after Yom Tov, and the Purim se’udah which continues after nightfall when Purim is already over. However, Chanukah has no Isru Chag or se’udah continuing after Chanukah ends; how then does one quench his longing for Chanukah? The answer is by studying Torah topics related to Chanukah! Like we say regarding korbanos, “we will render for bulls the offering of our lips” – by studying the halachos of the korbanos, one is considered to have brought a korban – even if he’s not a kohen, even if he’s outside of Eretz Yisrael, and even if it’s after the Beis Hamkdash is destroyed – because Torah transcends time and space.Excerpt from sichah of Zos Chanukah 5735 For a transcript in English of the Sicha: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=14-12-2023
