יום א' פ' כי תצא, ג' אלול, ה'תשפ"ו

התוכן חודש אלול יש בו מעלה מיוחדת שגם כאשר מתעסקים בעניני חול, "שדה", נמצאים ביחד עם ממה"מ הקב"ה. כידוע ביאור אדה"ז "ע"פ משל למלך שקודם בואו לעיר יוצאין אנשי העיר לקראתו ומקבלין פניו בשדה .. וכך הענין עד"מ בחודש אלול יוצאין להקביל אור פניו ית' בשדה". וכמו שמסיים בהמשך המשל ש"בלכתו העירה הרי הם הולכים אחריו כו'", עד לארמון המלך. וענין זה מודגש אצל "צבאות ה'", שהרי אצל "איש צבא" ניכר במשך כל השנה את שייכותו למלך, ועד"ז אצל "צבאות ה'" שניכר בהם כל השנה, גם בעניני אכילה ושתי' ושינה, שהם שייכים להקב"ה, שהם מברכים על האוכל וכיו"ב. אלא שבמשך כל השנה, הנה אפי' אצלם יש חילוק בין עת לימוד התורה וקיום המצוה ובין עת האכילה ושתי' עצמם, משא"כ בחודש אלול כאשר המלך נמצא אתם גם בעניני "שדה". תקיעת שופר בחודש אלול מזכירה אודות הכתרת המלך מחדש בר"ה.ב' חלקים משיחת יום ד' פ' שופטים, ד' אלול ה'תשמ"ה, להתלמידים ולהתלמידות דמחנות קיץ יומיים – "צבאות השם" – שיחיו ל"הנחה פרטית" או התרגום ללה"ק של השיחה: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=16-08-2026 Synopsis The Alter Rebbe illustrates the significance of the month of Elul with the parable of a king in the field: “Before he enters the city the townspeople go out to greet him and welcome him in the field…Similarly, by way of analogy, during the month of Elul they go out to receive the light of Hashem’s face,” and “when he goes to the city, they follow after him” until they reach the palace. This idea is emphasized particularly among members of Tzivos Hashem: although, as soldiers in Hashem’s Army, their connection to Hashem is apparent all year long, even in their eating, drinking and sleeping etc. (because they recite a bracha over their food etc.), there is nevertheless a difference between the time spent engaging in Torah and mitzvos, and the time spent eating and drinking. But in the month of Elul, the King is with them even when they are “in the field” (i.e. engaged in mundane matters).
