התוכן באגה"ק ד"ה קטנתי מכל החסדים מבאר אדה"ז שזה גופא שהקב"ה הראה ליעקב "חסדים" ו"אמת" – הקטין אותו, כי "כל הקרוב אל ה' ביתר שאת .. צ"ל יותר שפל רוח". ובסגנון חז"ל: "מאן דמחוי במחוג קמי' מלכא וכו'", והיינו, שכאשר עומדים לפני המלך, הנה אפי' תנועה קלה נחשב למרידה במלכות רח"ל. דנוסף לזה שכאשר ממה"מ הקב"ה מראה קירוב ל"איש הדיוט ושפל אנשים" ה"ז מעורר אצל המקבל הרגש של שפלות עוד יותר – הנה גם מצד המשפיע זה כך, כי ככל שמיתוסף גילוי אלקות הולכת ופוחתת הנתינת-מקום למציאות וישות. וע"ד הטעם שבשבת מלאכה אסורה, אף שבימות החול ה"ז מצוה, כי בשבת מאיר גילוי אלקות ה"ז מבטל מציאות היש וגם במקבל ניכרת בו השפלות ביותר. וזהו"ע מה דוקא בתפלת שמו"ע מבקשים "סלח לנו .. כי פשענו", כי בשעה שעומד בפני המלך, תופס ומרגיש שצריך לבקש "סלח לנו" גם על מה שלא הי' נחשב כחטא כשהי' בחוץ. וזהו גם מה שלאחרי שהקב"ה קירב את יעקב בהראות לו "חסדים" ו"אמת" הי' "נדמה בעיניו שחטא". וזהו גם שדוקא בברכת "הגומל" על חסדים שהקב"ה מראה, מרגיש האדם שהוא במצב של "חייבים".משיחת י"ב תמוז ה'תשכ"א ל"הנחה פרטית" או התרגום ללה"ק של השיחה: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=26-11-2023 Synopsis In the epistle beginning Katonti Mikol Hachasadim, the Alter Rebbe explains that precisely because Hashem showed Yaakov “kindnesses and truth” Yaakov became small, because “whoever is [brought] exceedingly close to Hashem… ought to be ever humbler”. As our Sages said, “One who gestures before the king etc.”, meaning, when one stands before the King, even a slight movement is considered rebellion against the throne, Rachmana litzlan. When Hashem shows closeness to “a commoner who is despised and lowly among men, a disgraceful creature cast on the dunghill,” the effect is two-fold: (a) from the receiver’s perspective, he feels humbler, and (b) from Heaven’s perspective, the greater Divine revelation diminishes the ability for any independent entity to exist. This is similar to the reason labor is forbidden on Shabbos, though it is a mitzvah during the week – because on Shabbos (a) there’s a greater Divine revelation, which nullifies independent existence, and (b) the world recognizes its own lowliness. This is also why we say “Pardon us…for we have sinned” specifically in Shemoneh Esrei – because it is precisely when one stands before the King that he realizes that what was previously acceptable is considered sin.
