התוכן ביאור חומר האיסור דמשקלות "לא יהי' לך בביתך איפה ואיפה וגו'" שבשביעי דפ' כי תצא, עד שעוון זה הביא את הענין דמלחמת עמלק (וכמו שנלמד במדרש מסמיכות ענינים אלו בפ' כי תצא): כשיש לאדם שתי גישות – "משקלות" – שונות: [לא כמו שצריך להיות, עפ"י הכלל "כל מאן דאסר לן רחמנא שרא לן כוותי'", שצרכי הנשמה, שהיא המחי' את הגוף, יהיו אצלו העיקר, ועניני הגוף רק טפלים, אלא] הגישה שלו לצרכי הגוף היא שיש לעשות בזה מה שיותר, אף פעם לא מסתפק במה שיש לו כבר ושום דבר לא קשה לו כדי להשיג מבוקשו וכו', אבל הגישה לעניני קדושה היא לגמרי אחרת... (וזה מתבטא גם בחינוך, ולדוגמא: נותנים נדבות גדולות יותר לבתי-ספר שם לומדים לימודי חול (או עכ"פ גם לימודי חול) מלישיבות שם לומדים על טהרת הקודש...) – דרך זו היא פתיחת הפתח לעמלק שעומד בדרך ולא נותן שיקבלו את התורה!ב' חלקים משיחת פורים ה'תשכ"ב ל"הנחה פרטית" או התרגום ללה"ק של השיחה: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=05-09-2025 Synopsis The midrash states (based on the juxtaposition of the two matters in shevi’i of parashas Ki Seitzei) that the war with Amalek came about because the people were not careful with the prohibition, “You must not keep two different ephah-measures in your house….” The reason this prohibition is so severe is because when a person has one “measure” and standard for the soul and one for the body – when it comes to the body, nothing is enough and he is willing to pay any price to attain more, whereas when it comes to the soul he suffices with even a little – this path opens the door to Amalek, who stands in the way and prevents the Jewish people from receiving the Torah. We also find this when it comes to education, where people give larger donations to schools where secular studies are (also) taught than to yeshivos where only holy subjects are taught.
