התוכן במאמר דחה"ס ה'תש"ז מבאר הפסוק "ולקחתם לכם ביום הראשון פרי עץ הדר, כפת תמרים, וענף עץ עבות, וערבי נחל". ומדייק בזה, דבגמ' אמרו עה"פ "ולקחתם" – "שתהי' לקיחה ביד כאו"א", וצ"ל, והלא "ביום הראשון" הוא מדריגה נעלית ביותר, ואיך אפשר אשר כאו"א יוכל להגיע לזה, וכבר ביום הראשון?! ומבאר בזה בהקדם הטעם שלמצוה זו נבחרו דוקא צמחים אלו, משום שכולם מורים על ענין האחדות: אתרוג: 1) ר"ת אל תבואני רגל גאוה", והחידוש בזה הוא שהגם שהוא יודע שיש בו מעלות אמיתיות עפ"י תורה, "יש לו טעם וריח", מ"מ אין לגאוה דריסת מקום אצלו. ומכיון שהוא בטל ה"ה מתאחד עם השני. 2) דר באילנו משנה לשנה – סובל כל ההפכים של ד' תקופות השנה וגדל מהם. דמכיון שהוא בטל ה"ה מאחד גם את כל השינויים שבעולם. לולב: "כפת" – עליו מתאחדים זה עם זה. הדס: תלת בחד קינא. ערבי נחל: נק' אחוינא שגדלים באחוה. ונוסף על האחדות שבכל מין בפ"ע, הנה תוכן המצוה הוא לאחד את כולם. ובזה יובן איך ע"י קיום מצוה זו ממשיך כאו"א מישראל בחי' "הראשון", כי ע"י ביטול ואחדות נעשים כלי לבחי' ראשון וכו'.חלק מהמאמר ד"ה יהי' ה' אלקינו עמנו, אור ליום ה', י"ג תשרי ה'תשמ"ז ל"הנחה פרטית" או התרגום ללה"ק של השיחה: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=29-09-2023 Synopsis The maamar of Chol Hamoed Sukkos 5707 explains the verse “And you shall take for yourselves on the first day, the fruit of the hadar tree, date palm fronds, a branch of a braided tree, and willows of the brook etc.” The Gemara’s states, “‘And you shall take’ – that there should be taking in the hand of each and every person,” but we must understand: “the first day” is a very high level; how can every Jew attain it, and already “on the first day” of Sukkos?! The maamar explains this based on the reason the mitzvah involves these particular four plants – because they all express the theme of unity: Esrog: (1) Esrog is an acronym אַל־תְּבוֹאֵנִי רֶגֶל גַּאֲוָה, “Let the foot of haughtiness not come with me,” that even though one “has taste and smell,” nevertheless he allows no room for haughtiness, nor even the “foot of haughtiness,” and therefore he can unite with others. (2) The esrog stays on its tree from year to year – because it is batel, it tolerates and grows from all the seasons and changes in the world. Lulav: the lulav is “kefus,” its leaves are united with one another. Hadas: Hadassim must have three leaves on one branch. Aravos: Are called achvana, which means brotherhood. And in addition to each specie’s individual expression of unity, the mitzvah is to bind them all together.
