From its humble 60 watt beginnings in 1969 to the present day 7,000 watts, KTUH has been a force to be reckoned with - bold sounds, totally student driven, alternative, edgy. This has been the vision for KTUH for 50 years and what listeners and supporters expect. 50 years on the air, 24/7 all year round island-wide coverage is no small feat and KTUH is celebrating this milestone in style. “50 years is a milestone achievement for any broadcast station, and an amazing feat for a student-run station, especially with KTUH’s growth in facilities, staff and coverage that have been attained over the years.” said Fred Barbaria. “The KTUH alumni that I have spoken with are very excited to celebrate and attend the concert in October.” The concert with the famed Richard Thompson Electric Trio will begin at 8:00pm, followed by The KTUH After Party featuring Z-Trip from 11:00pm till closing.
