Zahra Baker and Mama Emily- 30 years of storytelling and music

from UNAPOLLAGETIC PODCAST · host Sir Goodwin Live, Kimberly Smith

Zahra Baker and Mama Emily have been performing together for nearly 30 years and their impact has been enormous. If they didn't know it, they know it now.  After their former Manierre School students Sir Goodwin Live, multitalented singer and actress Tyisha Williams, and youth advocate Jamal Williams gave them their "flowers".  Mistakingly, meeting one another in the mid 90's, has blossomed into an unapollagetically Black, Beautiful journey through song and storytelling. Doing what they love, from the heart, needing no recognition, making an everlasting impact on students generations later, is why Mama Emily and Zahra Baker are real life Superheros!
