He received his medical degree from the Universiade Federal do Vale do Sao Francisco, Brazil, and completed two internal medicine residencies; at the Universidade Federal de Uberlandia and at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, and his fellowship at Yale University. He is an expert in Early Developmental Therapeutics as well as Sarcomas, including osteosarcoma.
