Zebede aka dr dave's Winter Solstice 23 June 2018 Jungle Set live and direct

THE Twenty third Dunedin Winter Solstice Party was held last night on 23rd June 2018 at Chris Cox's farm out near Dunback North Otago...It was a wonderful night packed with 23 DJ's playing full spectrum electronica of a high quality, and many artists and performers in the chill zone who were frankly awesome. I had just flown in to Dunedin from Houston Texas that morning...High Humidity and temps in Hi 20's to Minus 5 in Dunedin... The longest night did not hold back on Cold. But thanks to fires and warm spirits and music warmth was never far off. I've got to thank the amazing team who put this together and again huge thanks for the invitation to play. I intended to respect the so(u)lsticites with a dynamic mix of contemporary jungle tunes, with the old skool feeling I love kept alive throughout, keeping it bouncy in the mix (blending muddy, dubby and surgical styles) switching between messy and tight...I did my best to remix with multiple manual loops and stabs of harmony and rhythm..my apologies that I did not realise that I had not pressed record on my Serato output until the third tune into my set (I thankfully pressed record at a good point, but the first part feels a little messy as it is out of the full context...ah well), I have not listed those from the "missing Chanel"...(missing tunes …Kumarachi - Love Box Return, and, sp:mc - We Run Dis)... but I may post another mix including them and providing alternative to this mix... (Although I had carefully prepared what I wanted to play...at the last minute I chucked a blender in it and in the end this was a very spontaneous mix...which I really enjoyed)....Again my heartfelt thanks to all the crew, and for the massive quality of musicians, DJ's and performers...it was an Epic night to be sure...and actually I want to pay respect to all the amazing people who volunteer their time, skills and energy to create something so complex that feels so natural...Huge respect to KTB a Junglist of the highest order and a friend of greatness who played an epic jungle DnB set prior to me and she set the standard very very very high indeed (I loved your set) :-) xxx ... thank you to all of you who we at my set celebrating Jungle.... Massive love to you Miki for making it back south...I loved your selection... you are a star to me... I will treasure the stone...as I do the Pounamu ...
