Zibanejad Wins Extra Effort Award

Mika Zibanejad, New York Rangers forward, wins the Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award for his relentless hustle. This is his third win, following back-to-back victories in 2018-19 and 2019-20. Zibanejad led the Rangers in goals, power-play tallies, and overall points this season, shattering the franchise power-play goal record. His extra effort on the ice honors Steven McDonald, a lifelong Rangers fan and police detective shot in the line of duty, who passed away in 2017.
