Zimbabwe's Constitutional Court Ruling

Yesterday Zimbabwe’s Constitutional Court heard opposition party’s challenge the results of the recent presidential elections in the country which saw the victory of Zanu-PF’s Emmerson Mnangagwa. The country’s capital city, Harare, was heavily securitized with police barricading the streets. After arguments from the opposition claiming ‘gross mathematical errors’ in the counting of ballots the chief justice of the court announced that the ruling would be made public tomorrow at 14:00 Central African Time. Last month, the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission declared Mnangagwa narrowly won with 50.8% of the vote, avoiding a runoff.
