from The Road from Carmel · host Jill Kenton and Doron Junger

Joining Jill and Doron on this episode, to tell us her story, is our very first female guest on the podcast, Oxford University Professor Zoë Waxman (1986-88).   Zoë Waxman is the inaugural Professor of Holocaust History at the University of Oxford. She is the author of three books on the Holocaust, as well as numerous articles relating to the Holocaust and genocide.  She was a pupil at Carmel from 1986 to 1988, and has a younger brother, Dov, who was also at Carmel. Hear Zoë explain how her time at Carmel inspired her to become a Holocaust scholar.  You'll also hear Jill divulge a secret of her one-time Friday afternoon beauty routine (it involves unconventional use of a hair dryer). Dedication: at Zoë's request, this episode is dedicated to the memory of Sharon Hannah Levine, Zoë's best friend at Carmel, who sadly died in a car accident in the UK in December 1990.   Thank you, Zoë, for turning us again to Carmel days!   Personal mentions in this episode:   Dr. John Addis (History) Freddy Zartz (History) Dov Waxman Sharon Levine Anabel Junger (née Petter) Abby Borisute Gila Brunen Pauline Kelly Lee Litman Jason Ross Rebecca Wernick Yoram Roth Linor Yechiel Jody Rapp Tami Isaacs   Feel free to leave a comment letting us know what you liked about this episode.   To tell us your story, email us at [email protected]/[email protected]
