Erik de Jong, beter bekend als Spinvis, verstaat die kunst als geen ander. Het resoneert, wat hij bloot legt met zijn melancholische poëtische popliedjes. Toen 25 jaar geleden zijn eerste veelgeprezen album verscheen raakte hij direct iets dat universeels én typisch Nederlands is. In het volstrekt eigenzinnige oeuvre dat hij sindsdien opbouwde, verglijdt de tijd, vervomen herinneringen en ondertussen modderen de mensen maar wat aan. In Brainwash Zomerradio interviewt Floortje Smit denkers aan de hand van muziek. In tien afleveringen spreekt ze met filosofen, wetenschappers, theatermakers en schrijvers over de muziek die vormend is geweest voor hun identiteit en voor hun denken.
