ZTF Spots a Stealthy Black Hole Wandering a Galaxy Edge

Researchers using the Zwicky Transient Facility have identified a supermassive black hole located at the periphery of a galaxy, marking a significant departure from typical central observations. This elusive object was detected via a tidal disruption event, where the gravitational pull of the black hole shreds a passing star and produces a brilliant flare of light.
