Zulfiye Tufa on How to Leave Behind What No Longer Lights You Up

Zulfiye, an Australian Muslim woman of Turkish and African heritage talks about how she made her transition to leaving behind her career as a community pharmacist to pursue a career in fashion. This led to her creation of 'Mod Markit', a platform for people to buy and sell modest fashion, that was acknowledged internationally and featured as part of Melbourne Fashion week. Zulfiye started roller skating to pass time during COVID lockdowns, and this quickly transitioned from a hobby into a lifestyle as she attracted collaborations with International brands like Pepsi, TikTok, Spotify and Meta.In this conversation we explored how Zulfiye finds herself as a grassroots community organiser - we discuss her latest project - Half Way There - which creates unique networking events mindfully designed for single muslims living in Australia.
