6月9日のゲストは、現在、東京ミッドタウンのサントリー美術館で行われている「六本木開館10周年記念展 神の宝の玉手箱」担当学芸員の佐々木康之です。 ほとんどの人が浦島太郎伝説をイメージする「玉手箱」ですが、元々は高い身分階級の人々が身の回りの装身具を収めるための箱を蒔絵や螺鈿細工といった最高の装飾技法で美しく仕立て、それを”玉なる箱”として愛でてきたのがそもそもの由来。修理後初公開となる国宝＜浮線綾螺鈿蒔絵手箱＞を始め、数多くの名品が一同に揃いました。日本古来のデザインの美しさに思わずうっとりしてしまう展覧会。７月17日までの開催です。
