Der Goldstandard zur Therapie einer HIV-Infektion besteht aus drei verschiedenen Wirkstoffen, die sogenannte kombinierte antiretrovirale Therapie (cART). Dank dieser Therapie ist eine fast normale Lebenserwartung für HIV-Infizierte bei gutem Ansprechen möglich. Nun erteilt die FDA erstmals eine Kombination aus nur zwei Wirkstoffen für bisher unbehandelte HIV-Infektionen.
