The police subtly suspect Surya, noting he never viewed Mahesh's body, didn't inform the widow directly, and has no alibi. Surya remains evasive about the client and case details, citing confidentiality. After a confrontational interview in his apartment where he denies any involvement or prior knowledge of Thambidurai, the police leave without arresting him but maintain their suspicion.
