Episode 44 drops, and the boys get into it...and some light tech difficulties, but you wouldn't know if we didn't tell you! David gives a 1-week review of his new Tudor Pelagos, which sparks some discussion about a Black Bay Chrono Panda Dial and what the Tudor market is looking like today. This leads Matt and David to talk about potential negotiation tactics with new watches and cars. Likely wishful thinking, or maybe not as the world's supplies no longer seem as abysmal and consumers may have some bartering power again. They discover that David's previously unrevealed tastes are so bad when it comes to some car characteristics, that he could metaphorically bite into a raw white onion and eat it like a damn apple! Finally, the Depreciator segment returns with a look at grossly depreciated luxury SUVs.  Will Matt win again or can Hirji even the playing field? Enjoy!  

Episode 43 kicks off with the boys talking about "the Un-publishables"....a proposed segment where they release their previously recorded stuff in an effort to completely abandon their audience.  Fortunately, this is a short-lived thought. Wanting to celebrate Women more on the show, Matt and David each provide a profile of women pioneers in both Motorsports and Watchmaking. First up, Matt takes you through an understanding of Susie Wolff's career - from growing up in a Motorcycle dealership in Oban, to spearheading the biggest shift in Formula 1 when it comes to breaking gender-stereotypes.  Then, David walks through the impact that Women have had in watchmaking for decades - primarily behind the scenes - and now in the spotlight.  From the young women whom hand assembled timepieces, to those who are now thought leaders in horology and watch design. A new segment, The Depreciator starts with the boys each picking a Luxury 4 door sedan with the greatest depreciation in less than 12 years. Enjoy!  

Well....get a load of this!  In this week's episode, Matt takes a swing and provides a brief understanding of the 911 Turbo's inception and a look at the variations before they became liquid-cooled.  The guys recap a visit to the Tudor boutique in Vancouver and David's latest acquisition...including its current status. Matt starts a new segment, The Depreciator, where the boys look for the greatest depreciation in cars and watches over a loosely suggested time...or something like that. In episode 41, the boys are live in Vancouver and have a lot to talk about! First up, David profiles a new Bvlgari Octo Finnissimo - now available as a Skeleton case in Titanium.  Could this be a contender against a AP Royal Oak? Cars, Cars, and more cars....eventually.  Matt and David talk about profiling more brands and price points for cars in the future.  Then, Matt gets into the weeds on his new business venture and some thoughts on how the Automobile can be a means to give back to the community. Finally, a look at the 996/997 listings on FB Marketplace to see what "driver grade" cars are available as well as a look at a 2-owner 1997 Bentley Turbo R listed for just $25K CAD. Enjoy!  

Back for episode 40, the boys reconvene over a couple of beers and get right into a quietly reported story about VW group cars being held in North American ports.  Using embargoed parts to make up other parts is frowned upon....allegedly.  This was like winding up the organ to get them talking about Dealership woes and what sets good dealers apart from bad ones. Then, Matt brings up a recent patent filed by Rolex for a new ceramic Black/Red bezel, hinting at a new "Coke" GMT.  Furthermore, they discuss the findings that making a Blue bezel with the newer ceramic seems impossible at the moment, thus rendering a "Batman" or "Pepsi" GMT even more sought after. A modern classic BMW 1M gets showcased, currently listed on Bring-a-Trailer.  And the boys check out a new Sheffield watch/watch bundle available in 4 classic Porsche colours, before taking a solid look at the new Rolls Royce Spectre. Crew show!! Back at it, Matt and David dive immediately into the flurry of F1-related news and memes in the last week - Hamilton to Ferrari, Haas ousts Gunther, Horner investigation, etc.  This leads to discussing a new Tudor BB Ceramic shown off by Daniel Riccardo this week and reaffirms the boy's Tudor love. Matt asks: what could Rolex release that would be reflective of heritage and hype to make an impact in 2024?  Catipolting the conversation to Zenith and the ties between these two brands with the always coveted Daytona. Then, Matt drops that he quit his job this week to pursue a new venture in the auto industry before the boys revisit the discussion of the new Macan EV and clarify a couple of items from their previous episode. Bryan, aka @manuell_996 on Instagram, returns to catch up and boy is there a lot to talk about. Starting with our collective disdain for the Cybertruck and the marketing gimmicks that leave us rolling our eyes, it leads us to talk about the new Macan EV launch and what we think.  In which, Matt drops a bomb that he'd rather have a particular EV from Korea instead of a Macan....wait, what?!?! The MoonSwatch comes up again as the three discuss this week's Snoopy teaser from Swatch and what it could (obviously will) mean for a future release. Don't worry, they all have MoonSwatches so they've earned the right to an opinion.  But they draw some interesting parallels between the MoonSwatch and 996 gen 911s or 986 Boxters. The Air-Water road trip planning starts with some thoughts on staying a day in the bay area and paying a visit to FD Motorsports (www.fdmotorsports.net) to Matt's exhaust upgrade; then finally touch on some listener questions and address Gunther Steiner's exit as Team Principle from Haas GP. Ahhhh....first pod of 2024!  Like a breath of fresh air to bring on the new year, we're back to provide you with another dose of ear candy! We riff on a new, off-roader from Audi - the Q8 e-tron Dakar Edition.  Who is this car for and, more importantly, would you buy one? The Porsche 911R Market gets a much-needed correction after the sale of a high-spec, low milage variation from the White Collection, as we found a proper example on BaT reflecting reality. Finally, the discussion of Hype Watches and what drives enthusiasm, design and creativity in the watch culture over the past year; what does this lead to in 2024 and beyond? Enjoy!! 

The boys wrap up 2023, recapping their favourite watches and cars that dropped last year.  Spoiler: the 911 S/T - S/Till S/Tealing our hears and minds, even if it's unobtainium....for now ;)  The Christopher Ward C1 Bel Canto gets additional praise, along with some new variations of vintage watches from Tag Heuer; the Lotus Emira will remain the best alternative to Porsches's 718 GTS 4.0. Our 34th episode finds our best recommendations for watches under USD 1K.  No surprise, David exploded the budget so Matt comes with a couple of sub-$500 gems!  They also provide thoughts and recommendations on their best "sporty" car under USD 30K; this prompts the discussion around buying as much as possible in a new car vs. a pre-owned car of greater prestige.   Coming off the news and stories of the white collection sales, we review a recent JayEmmOnCars (YouTube) video where Jay dives into the 911 market of late.  Has the bubble burst and are we finally seeing prices normalize?  We get into it at the top of the episode. Well fam, the guys had to record a new episode as the original with a guest didn't work out!  Whatever...on with the show! Matt and David walk through the recent sale of (most of) the White Collection - a curated cache of Porsches, most with delivery milage (read: none), in factory shades of white.  Four records were set for specific cars and there are numerous other outliers.  The guys talk about their thoughts on the prices and what these cars might mean for the new owners if they wish to drive them. Then, David presents a new Tourbilion from Breitling that is also a collab....wait, what???  The guys offer an uncandid opinion of this and where this watch fits...or better yet, what they would have done differently that could have helped make it a winner. Episode 32!! Can you believe it?  We sure can't!! David and Matt are joined by their first repeat guest, and friend of the show, Sandeep Parmar.  He's just returned from a trip to Paris and is eager to highlight his adventure and process of finding a new timepiece to mark the trip. Appropriate that they discuss the new Panamera, and how Porsche has opted to discontinue the Sport Turismo config in the Panamera line-up.  RIP Porsche Superwagon of old! Only the EV Taycan Sport Turismo remains, marking the end of a short window where Porsche was contending with the RS6 and E63 grocery-getters. The guys all jump into a Chrono24 challenge to find what they would each pick if faced with acquiring a Jager-LeCoultre (JLC) today.  Spoiler: David cheated and just went to JLC's site...but we all win and the points are moot. Rounding out the show, additional topics get hit including Rolex threatening to discontinue the 'Pepsi' GMT due to manufacturing issues, Travis Scott's collab with Audemars Piguet and The Grand Tour announced their set to conclude the series. In episode 31, David and Matt kick off with a thank you to the previous guest (Bryan Larsen) for their time and for getting them to do intros again! Matt looks at Porsche's recent introduction of a new colourway to the Porsche crest that will adorn Turbo models, leaving some to believe it was a slow news week. David gives a profile of the JLC Reverso, including the history and individualization that owners have done to some pieces, prompting the next episode's Chrono24 challenge. It's a sober, pre-race conversation about the Las Vegas Grand Prix and what Matt and David think we can expect from the first F1 race there in 40 years. Enjoy!

Finally!  We have a loyal listener and contributor, Bryan Larsen joining Matt and David in the studio for an extraordinary 30th episode of 0to60radio. We start with walking through Bryan's sorted watch and Porsche history, hitting all the major turning points.  From his first toy watch to the first automatic, we get a great story about how his love for watches started and where it's brought him today. This led to his passion for cars, where it started and his ambition to experience the diversity in the Porsche lineup; particularly the 911 range of cars.   Through a few pints and a bottle of vino, the three each focus on what Porsche they would choose if they could only have one.  The same question is proposed for watches, leading through a vast and storied discussion. We find our friends, Matt and David, on a casual Sunday evening while they catch up and harken back to a previous episode to profile a couple of exceptional cars that have been given treatment by Zagato. First, a 1963 Lancia Flaminia 2.8 3C.  A lovely Italian GT from an analog era that we're still grasping onto.  Then, a one-off Alfa Rome Giulia SWB Quadrifoglio, built for a German collector last year (2022). Gears shift to watches (no pun intended...)as a new Chronosport from Zenith, in collaboration with Aaron Rogers, reminds the guys that this is the ideal substitute for a Rolex Daytona. David profiles a new release (well....a re-release, if you will) from Tag Heuer as they bring back the Monza Flyback.  With a similar design language that we've seen on the Monaco line, this modernization of a classic Chrono is sure to catch eyes on and off the circuit.   In honour of Matthew Perry, Matt shines a light on his love for cars and shares some of the pieces in his collection as of when he passed.   All this and more rambling about F1, Porsche and some other stuff these guys think you want to hear... Another packed episode this week as Matt and David dive into some core topics. Starting a prototype custom Seiko Royal Oak mod from Alpine Mods with a 0to60 dial that arrived this week; spoiler... it looks damn good!!  Then, a piece of Canadiana (is that thing??) history by....Rolex??  Yeah, really!  The Rolex Sky Rocket made IN CANADA for Canadian pilots gets the spotlight for a moment.  Then, Matt and David profile the Maserati MC20 in all its glory.  These guys have to walk back some previous comments about the milquetoast interior and lack of "fizz" from the Italian marque, as this car slaps the soul!  So does the configurator online!! David walks through some of the results of the Monaco Legends Fall Auction, with some real BIG buys and some that appropriately set the market for highly coveted pieces; especially from Rolex.  This leads down a conversation, sparked by a cannabis-steeped Matt, about what attracted David to watches and does peripheral endorsement of watches by people of influence draw him to specific brands. Finally, a brief history lesson on Zagato; an Italian coachbuilder that has been making bespoke automotive bodies for Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, and more....for over 100 years.  All this, and then some....we hope you enjoy!!    

The boys start and end with a lot of watch talk this week, as they get deep into the Monaco Legend Group's Fall Auction showcasing some fantastic vintage watches - including a fist full of Paul Newman Rolex Daytonas....yeah, again!! They also profile a spectacularly spec'd F10 BWM M5 Competition, sporting a 6-speed Manual making this not only rare but also the one-to-have for longevity and driving pleasure. Matt and David each call out the best and worst watch collabs - ahem....AP x Marvel *eyeroll*, and Matt profiles a solid chronograph alternative to a Daytona that flies below the radar. Enjoy!!

Back on track and starting with Matt's full driving impressions of David's GTS 4.0 Cayman, appropriately dubbed: The 'GT4 Touring'.   David exposes the stratospheric rise in the resale value of another Rolex; this time the limited Daytona Le Mans that dropped in June...seriously, there is a ~600% + increase over MSRP! The boys take in the last Euro Cars & Coffee of the calendar year at Oak Bay Marina, finally taking a detour from all the damn Porsche talk!  Don't worry, they find other cars to drool over and pick on. Finally, they look at two more watches - a "new" drop by Tag Heuer in a limited edition Carrera....err...kinda; and a recommendation from our previous guest to showcase a value diver from Certina - the DS Action Diver that hits hard!! David takes delivery of the often-talked-about 718 GTS this week and gives his first impressions - spoiler, it's pretty good!  A new Tag Heuer Monaco drops in Titanium with some interesting lume and they all give their take on recent YouTube videos release of the 911 S/T. In this week's episode, the boys kick off talking about some new show decals that Matt ordered and his thoughts on the Porsche community on Vancouver Island.  This leads to talking about a VIR (Vancouver Island Region) PCA member's 987 Cayman R and why this particular first-gen Cayman is so special. The love for Tudor continues, as David looks closer at a NEW Pelegos FXD in Black and talks about the history with various militaries.  Then, Matt brings up a 68 mile 911 Dakar that sold on Bring-a-Trailer as a springboard to discuss the bench-setting market for pre-owned Dakar's. Rounding out the watch talk, the guys profile a new IWC Big Pilot released in conjunction with a new AMG G63, discuss the use of "not-of-this-world" matter in Rolex dials and the direction of a custom Seiko mod for the giveaway. Episode 22 opens with some candor and discussion on local beer...or lack thereof.  Matt prompts David and himself to not be so dismissive of the new Mustang GTD being a raw track/road car with GT3-like capabilities.  Then, David walks us through a recent, and we'd say impressive, drop from Tag Heuer as they've created a special movement as an homage to the first Porsche 911 in their new watch - The Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche.  Of course, not before they walk back some previous comments on the Blancpain x Swatch Fifty Fathoms, while also critiquing a major flaw. Then, they dive into the speculation of what Swatch is about to announce in collaboration with Blancpain and provide their take on it...with a level of candor that Swatch may not appreciate.  However, they switch topics to creating their own custom Seiko Mod in collaboration with Alpine Mods (www.alpinemods.com) and their plan to give one away to a lucky listener. David walks through the upcoming GPHG (Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève) Awards and profiles his pick for best in class and best in show - the Christopher Ward C1 Bel Canto - and, gives us an update on delivery timing for his 718 GTS. A late publish, as the boys get episode 20 out on a Thursday but still a fun show full of content! Matt recaps some of the barn find Ferraris in the RM Sotheby's auction during Monterey Car Week; including a special piece that isn't even drivable.  They then discuss an opportunity with Alpine Mods (www.alpinemods.com) to create a custom Seiko Mod with the new 0 to 60 radio logo as the dial and perhaps give one to a listener. David walks through a Hondinkee article on the new MoonSwatch drop and gets Matt to raise his voice before getting into a comparison of the Rolex Explorer 40mm v. the Tudor Ranger 39mm. Enjoy!!  

In another episode recorded in person, the boys discuss Matt's trek over the Canadian Rockies to leave his 997 C2 with Hirji for a couple of weeks.  They share their thoughts after visiting the Lucid store in downtown Vancouver on the variants of the Air model and ask the question...." would you buy one?" David, as promised, walks us through the Porsche Design Chrono (watch) that is baked into the sticker price of the new 911 ST - yes, it's mandatory - and is this really worth the ~$15K value that Porsche puts on it? They trip through the recent videos and reviews of the 718 Spyder RS as "the best Porsche roadster EVER" and take a look at the late-model Bentley market to judge the value of post-depreciation on a Flying Spur. Back again, and with a new LIVE episode.  Matt and David are together in the same room once more, making for some fun conversation...and on the same week that Porsche drops the much anticipated 911 S/T!! The boys take another look at the Tag Heuer Monaco and some new colorways that were quietly released in July.  They also take a closer look at the Mercedes AMG One and discuss its presence among modern hypercars (as if they have a clue!!) On a previously unreleased episode (ahem....blame Matt for the tech issues), the gauntlet was thrown down for each of the guys to find a car on Bring-a-Trailer that the others would NOT pick for themselves.  There are some fun surprises here, for sure!  David gives a great profile of Hajime Asaoka, a Japanese designer-turned-watchmaker, who provides an impactful blend of precision, craftsmanship, detail, and beauty.  Lots of content, as usual!  Enjoy!!  

We find David and Matt on a sober and sunny Sunday morning, having an agenda-less conversation. Starting with The (British) Open and Hungarian Grand Prix, they quickly turn back to a proper discussion about a new Tudor Black Bay drop and another waiting list they've added their names to.  This leads to talking about Vintage watches vs. newer tech and movement, how there is space for the full spectrum in a collection and the ties to car collecting...especially with Porsche sports cars. The latest BMW M2 gets some focus as the guys discuss their opinion on the looks, performance and tech; then compare it to David's soon-to-be-delivered Cayman GTS 4.0.  Finally, they show Bentley and Breitling some love by comparing their hits and misses over the past 20 years. Stacked with car talk in the first half and watch speak in the second, David and Matt walk through history...again! First up: On the weekend of Goodwood Festival of Speed, Matt speaks to how it all started and what the event brings today.  From the Duke of Richmond, to live podcasting on the Lotus stage - Goodwood has evolved from its humble, post-war beginnings.  Then, the guys talk about the new Aston Martin DB12....the pinnacle, grand-touring automobile.  David walks us through the importance of Zenith's chronograph and its ties to the Rolex Daytona. They go deep on the evolution and discuss why a vintage Zenith Chrono hits the mark on quality, craftsmanship, history, and budget!   Then, they round out this 16th episode with the Hublot "loaner" - Classic Fusion Titanium for Hodinkee review and thoughts, dovetailing into a new challenge for next week. Another episode drops, and it's packed with content!!  Matt makes his first major watch acquisition in a new Tudor BB 41mm which leads the boys down a path that discusses "milestone" watches and how each acquisition perhaps holds a special memory.  David shares a status update on his 718 GTS build and potential delivery timing.  The excitement of the British GP has Matt impressed with McLaren taking the 2 and 3 spots on Sunday's grid, and they talk about the new Mercedes Benz S63 AMG....which is great, but who is it for really? A Chrono24 Challenge has Matt and David looking for Vintage watches <$1500 that each other would NOT buy for themselves.  Finally, they rant about Swatch and the direction that the Omega moonSwatch should take. The hits keep coming on another extended episode!  David sparks discussion and some debate on the current Mercedes-Benz design language and how there is a broad line of segregation between the elegance of the old and the AMG'isation of the last 20 years.  This dovetails the boys into how Porsche culture stands alone, especially when it comes to sports cars. Matt gives prose on why the 993 generation 911 is so special and where it would fit in someone's collection....particularly to complement a recent 991.2 GTS acquisition. David talks about a new movement from Tudor as well as their recent drop of an Alinghi Red Bull Racing Pelegos FXD in both time only and a Chrono option. Finally, a quick rundown of Jerry Seinfeld's recently acquired 1-of-1 996 Classic Club Coupe - everyone else is talking about it, so we HAVE to!! Enjoy!!  

Through a smoke-filled garage, we find Matt and David in a whiskey-soaked state of heightened intelligence.....they think that with inebriation comes more impactful content.  I guess you'll have to decide for yourself. On the 12th episode, Matt and David focus primarily on P-car talk and it's exciting....at least to porschephiles....maybe? Matt talks about the recent documentary released by Hagarty on YouTube - Racing with Giants: Porsche at Le Mans, the history of Porsche Motorsports and how innovation made it from the Mulsanne straight, to Mulholland drive - i.e. the track to the street. David breaks the news that there will be an incoming 991.2 C4 GTS MANUAL, confirming the 981 Cayman GT4 is outgoing.  They talk about driving these two cars back-to-back, the differences in driving characteristics, and the overall sensations that come with each car. Not much in the realm of watches this week, but it's still guaranteed to melt your heart, tickle your funnybone, pique your mind, and leave you breathless....or your money back.   P.S. - this podcast is free and worth every penny!

FULL DISCLOSURE: This ep wasn't intended to air.  Matt and David were chatting about ideas for their "awesome" podcast, so they missed the Intro and Outro.  Shhhhh....don't tell them we're publishing it.  They don't listen anyway.   It's rough but relaxed in this week's episode.  Originally, they didn't intend to publish this but with good conversation, comes good content.  Or....erm.....at least it was easy enough to publish!   Matt and David discuss some ideas for upcoming shows.  Now that 10 episodes are in the rearview, they think they're pros or something.  They present a review of potential upcoming guests (including David's father), what to ask them, and how to get their stories about cars, watches, and how they got to where they are.  David probes with thoughts on a 991.2 C4 GTS Manual and whether is it worthy of trading a 981 GT4 in an effort to retain driving pleasure with a more "daily" sports car.   Finally, the pursuit of interest in independent watchmaking continues with a closer look at F.P. In the 9th episode, Matt takes us down memory lane with an IWC history lesson and the boys look to Chrono24 for their IWC reccomendations at FOUR different price points!  While this takes up the bulk of the episode, they do get to some car talk eventually.   Lando Norris just took delivery of his custom McLaren 765LT Spyder, so naturally, there needs to be some thought-sharing on the spec.  As well, they'll showcase a one-off creation of a classic Porsche by Drew Hafner, a young and talented fabricator from Emory Motorsports.  Drew has built himself one of the most spectacular and special air-cooled Porsches we've seen, and we just couldn't NOT talk about it.  Link to Drew's car showcased on Ben Kahan's YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2-SRl2WEsE   It's a focused ep, so prepare to get educated!!  We hope you enjoy it.    

Lot's to talk about on this week's episode!!! David shares his new 718 GTS configuration, we talk about recent vintage watches at auction and how the Daytona market is becoming reminiscent of Unobtainium.   Why are rear wipers cool?  We'll tell you!!  Also, we share our thoughts on the new 718 Spyder RS and why it's probably going to be dubbed: "the Best Modern Porsche".  Matt does a pretty $hitty Sly Stallone impression, but shortly after we discuss Formula 1 and its association with watches and dive into Hype in watch culture. Finally, we briefly scratch an IWC itch that neither of us thought we had, and David gives prose on Perpetual Calendar movements. It's a f*cking mess....but a REALLY good mess!  You'll love it!

The hiatus is over!!  On this extended episode: Matt recaps his inter-continental road trip to David along with car-spotting stories from Rancho Santa Fe Cars & Coffee as well as Luft/Air-Water 9 Convoys on the Oregon Coast.    David confirms two exciting allocations that he's received from Rolex on a No Date Submariner and.....drum roll....a 718 Cayman GTS build.  We talk all about it and deliberate on ideal configs for his next car.

On this extended episode, Matt and David discuss two more Paul Newman Rolex Daytonas going up for auction in June.  They also review the new Lotus Emira as a contender for David's next car, based on the recent video dropped by The Smoking Tire.  This week's challenge takes the boys to Chrono24 to find what they would buy with a ~$20K budget, and they review some thought leadership on what's most important when it comes to vintage watches, depending on the buyer's purpose.  

On episode 5....wow...really?? Okay.....anyway, in episode 5 the gents review watches they spotted during The Masters' tournament and talk about drops from Watches and Wonders 2023.  Specifically, Rolex's emoji Day Date and Tag Heuer's new Carrera models.  Then, they discuss the new Lamborghini Revuelto (pronounced: Rev-you-el-toe) and dovetail into the blossoming Performance/Luxury EV market before reviewing 3 Baller-on-a-Budget dress watches.

In this week's episode, Matt has found not one, but two 991.2 Certified Carreras for David to consider as his next Porsche.  The boys discuss Tudor's collab with Ducatti from 2015 - the Fastrider Black Shield. David gives prose on best practices when buying watches online, and they attempt to align particular watch brands and cars.  

This week, David explains the "quartz-crisis" of 1983 and what led to a pivotal point in timepieces.  The boys discuss analog/vintage versus new tech and how that relates to watches and cars.  Matt talks of an awkward moment with a friend and dives head-first into the topic of Diversity and Inclusion in the watch and car cultures.  Plus, an overview of the 1980 Lancia Montecarlo.

On this week's episode, the guys unpack the issues hindering David from getting an allocation for a new 718 Cayman GTS.  Then, a history lesson and discussion on the new Rolex Cosmograph Daytona, and look at Paul Newman's grocery-getter that sold on Bring-a-Trailer this week.

On their inaugural episode, Matt and David compare a new AP Royal Oak SS Skeleton to a new Porsche 911 GT3 - really a digression into Matt's configuration, more that comparison.  But, its fun!   Also, Matt fills the air with a story of the largest bald eagle imaginable (yeah....sure) and David plans for his next Porsche ownership experience.
