LaTosha Brown, Co-Founder of Black Voters Matter, sat down for an in-depth interview with 1010 WINS Executive Producers, Sharon Barnes-Waters.  LaTosha is partnering with Black Theatre United for a very special Town Hall called "Reclaiming the Power of Your Vote." This will be held on Monday, September 9th at the New World Stages theatre in Manhattan.  Ms. Brown spoke about the power of the Black vote and the most pressing issues facing the community.  She also spoke about the historic nomination of a Black woman to the top of the Democratic ticket. The New York Urban League will host its 36th annual Historically Black Colleges and Universities Fair on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Denny Farrell Riverbank State Park in Manhattan. 1010 WINS' Sharon Barnes-Waters spoke to Arva Rice, CEO & President of the New York Urban League who said that over 40 HBCU'S will be in attendance and several schools will offer on-site admissions and waive fees for qualifying students. Over one million dollars in scholarships will also be given out at the fair and there will be workshops and guest speakers focusing on helping students gain the knowledge and tools necessary for them to move to and through higher education.   Attendance is free, but pre-registration is required for access to all aspects of the fair.  For more information, go to "www.NYUL.org"
