Bad Bosses, Broken Software, and the Lost Art of Disagreement
Send us Fan MailHappy June Well, why do we have to chame the people who go after entertainers and threaten their lives. The division is getting worse. We need to be better at communicating and if we don't agree then that's fine don't be a jerk about it. Ginger gives a lesson on proper bending and Marie shares what she has been doing to help with that and the rest of the body.Next the girls reflect on the horrible bosses and work environments that have endured in their lifetime.Lastly Your Friends and Neighbors ..1 more episode to go and Ginger's boy James Marsden is he dead. That seems to be his thing getting killed off on his shows. He has a movie and show coming out so there is that. Birds Brats and Bad Behavior
Send us Fan MailRip Rob Base a famous rapper Gen X has loved. We chame family who only appear for certain things otherwise they are ghosting us which leads into the distant and dysfunctional family that Ginger comes from. Generational trauma or the generational curse is what we both strived to end to no avail. Birds as yes Ginger is not a fan and has crazy encounters with them. Marie is Snow White and has the opposite relationship with birds. Happy 1 year to our podcast with 1160 downloads to date.Recap on Your Friends and Neighbors it was a good episode and only 2 more left.James Marsden please come on the podcast!Lastly RIP to my niece in law who lost her battle with cancer. Self Care, Case Updates, and The Lost Key
Send us Fan MailToday the girls talk about how important self-care is and when to see an expert and not wait and be in pain. Updates on Karen Reed and Kelsey Fitzsimmons and Ginger shares a story that was triggered after hearing about Betty Broderick passing. She stole a key from her daughter to gain entry in her ex-husbands house. Good luck to Spencer Pratt who is running for Mayor of LA. Neither of us live in California and from what we see we hope for the best for it to get cleaned up. Lastly, we are loving Your Friends and Neighbors. James Marsden you are amazing in the series and a great asset. It's a great cast overall as well. Jon Hamm, Amanda Peet, Oliva Munn, Mark Tallman, Hoon Lee, Eunice Bae, Lena Hall and Aimee Carrero what a cast and other actors in the series. Have a great week! Episode #5: Solo & Sovereign - The Way Out Is Built: My Story, Inside the DV Response System
Send us Fan MailIn Episode 5 of Solo and Sovereign, we move beyond theory and into reality—exploring what actually happens when someone reaches out for help in a high-risk domestic violence situation.Following our previous discussion on the Lethality Assessment Program (LAP), this episode breaks down the coordinated response system that often unfolds behind the scenes. From the immediate role of law enforcement, to the critical work of domestic violence advocates, to the life-saving support provided by emergency shelters—this is a look at how safety is built in real time.Through a powerful personal story, I share what it looked like to leave with my children—not in chaos, but through careful planning, trusted support, and coordinated action. What may appear on the surface as a sudden escape is often the result of quiet, strategic alignment between multiple systems working together. This episode highlights: The three key entry points to support: law enforcement, advocates, and shelters How risk is assessed and translated into actionable safety plans What emergency shelter placement really looks like The difference between surviving in crisis and leaving with structure Why the safest exits often happen before the situation reaches its peak We also talk about the reality many don’t see—the hidden layers of survival, the people who step in, and the systems that must align at the right moment. If you’re wondering where to begin, you’re not alone. Resources are available, and support exists.📞 National Domestic Violence Hotline (U.S.) Call: 1-800-799-7233 Text: START to 88788 Online: thehotline.orgAdvocates are available 24/7 to help you safety plan, understand your options, and connect with local resources. If this episode resonates, consider sharing it. Under Watch: IPV, Vehicle Surveillance, and Maternal Separation
Send us Fan MailToday the girls discuss IVP which stands for Intimate Partner Violence. They both discover that the abuse they went thru was more violent when they became pregnant and then had their children. Looking at other DV cases there is a pattern of the jealousy of one partner not getting the attention the children are. Next, they discuss that Ford announced they have the patent and making cars that pretty much are going to control what you can do and cannot do, Yikes keep those old cars running. Ginger has had tech issues with Facebook messenger, Arlo camera not updating, HP printer acting up not wanting to prin, and her Rav4 not displaying incoming text messages. It's been a week. Peer Reviewed Research 🔹 IPV + attachment / bondingMcIntosh et al. There is strong literature on partners using systems and institutions to restrict a mother’s access to her child. Episode #4: Solo & Sovereign - How to Recognize Abuse, Control, and Risk: Inside the Lethality Assessment Program
Send us Fan MailIn this Episode Marie explores how the Lethality Assessment Program identifies danger in intimate partner violence—recognizing patterns, spotting high‑risk situations, and connecting people to immediate, life‑saving help. National LAP lethality assessmentThe Lethality Assessment Program (LAP) is a national initiative aimed at preventing domestic violence homicides and serious injuries. It provides a standardized, evidence-based lethality assessment instrument and accompanying referral protocol that helps first responders identify victims of domestic violence who are at the highest risk of being seriously injured or killed by their intimate partners. The LAP connects these victims with critical safety tools and services, ensuring they receive immediate support and safety planning. The program has been validated as a "supported intervention" by the Centers for Disease Control’s Continuum of Evidence Effectiveness and is recognized as a "promising practice" by the U.S. Department of Justice. https://www.nsvrc.org/sarts/toolkit/5-7/#:~:text=Assessing%20Risk%20FactoSupport the showPlease like, subscribe, download, rate and review .
