John and Keith are on the campus of Lenoir Rhyne University in Hickory, North Carolina to cover the clash between North Wilkes and East Surry. Two juggernauts of this year's high school basketball campaign duke it out for the chance to make it to Winston Salem and participate in the state title game! 

Early March means the stakes become higher in high school basketball, especially for the North Wilkes Vikings, whose girls team carries an 18-6 record into their clash with Surry Central. The Lady Eagles boast a 23-4 record on the season. Each team looks to advance to the regional finals at Lenoir Rhyne on Friday, March 6th.   

In a high stakes 3rd round playoff game, John and Keith are on hand in Ronda to see the visiting Christ the King Crusaders take on the East Wilkes Cardinals who come into this game with an impressive 23-1 record. 

In this game, all the chips are on the table. It's win or go home in the second round of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Playoffs. North Wilkes faces Shelby. It is also an emotional game for our own John Wishon, as his son Miles Berrier is nearing the end of his high school basketball career. For both teams, four years of hard work and dedication hinge on this moment. 

It's the last game of the 2026 regular season and John and Keith are on hand to bring you all the action. Each team comes into this match up with something to lose and something to gain, the last time these teams faced off Elkin won out 60-53, Elkin seeks to continue their streak at home after taking the win on January 9th in Hays. North Wilkes meanwhile seeks to regain their footing and some confidence after their 3 point senior night loss to West Wilkes in Hays when they took the fall 51-49 and send their seniors off into the perverbial collegiate sunset with a win. 

It's Senior Night in Hays as the North Wilkes Vikings face off against the West Wilkes Blackhawks! The boys in blue and white have had quite a run lately with victories all the way back to January 19th. 63-54 over Starmount High School, 72-55 over West Wilkes High School, 62-42 over East Wilkes High School, 61-57 over Starmount, 55-53 over Wilkes Central High School, 69-62 over Ashe County High School — the Vikings ripped off six straight wins before falling 57-50 to Alleghany High School on February 11th. West Wilkes comes into this game with two straight losses to their credit, the first of which was in Sparta at Alleghany where they fell 57-50 and most recently Ashe County came to Millers Creek and won big 71-54.
