Welcome to this weeks episode of Space Dock Jury. Number 33 to be precise – unlike Lee who gets the number wrong AGAIN! So as is tradition we see how the Bottom 10 is doing and then Lee brings the vampire derelict from Lifeforce, Andy brings the GTS Colossus from the Freespace video game series and Peter brings the USS Pasteur from Star Trek The Next Generation episode All Good Things…

Welcome to this weeks minisode in which the guys review Guardians of the Galaxy vol.2 The cast is split in to two parts non spoiler and vaguely spoiler versions although it’s mainly split up because the demon drink got in the way at the pub where the first part is recorded. So join us as we drunkenly ramble and then awkwardly talk around spoilers in the spoiler section, thanks to Lee’s family (who at this point have yet to see the film) being within earshot of the second half of the recording… Oh and we lose Andy in the jeffreys tube in the second half too… All in all the wheels come flying off in short order… But take a listen anyway

Welcome to this weeks full episode of Space Dock Jury (number 32 not as Lee says on the cast 31 – idiot!) This week Lee brings a saucer in the form of the C57-D from Forbidden Planet, Andy returns to Mass Effect with hopefully less contentious return of the SSV Normandy with the SR2 from Mass Effect 2 and 3, while Pete, brings a boat… I mean the Space Battle Ship Yamato, which seems to be mainly included because it rhymes with tomato… And as ever something goes wonky with the scores and causes as much debate as the ships themselves…

In this weeks minisode, Lee, Andy and Pete pull a discussion point from the audience over on the Space Dock Jury facebook group and see what they can come up with regarding Sci Fi drinking establishments and theoretical pub crawls.

Welcome to this weeks minisode… This week, Lee and Andy stuff poor old Pete in the jefferies tubes again so they can discuss first impressions of a game that has been five years in the making and kept their spirits alive in these bleak times…. Mass Effect Andromeda. This is by no means an exhaustive review given the guys have barely left a third planet, but if you’re on the fence about what the game contains and how much of the memes and anti hype surrounding the game is true and whether its worth getting and what you might face should you get it. This week the team cast their eyes over the Alien Covenant trailers and discuss what that means for the film and Lee puts on his mystic meg hat and in a 10 mins speculative spoiler zone he predicts all the deaths of the crew members. Then after that the main job begins… Rating all seven alien films – Seven you say! Yup… Alien, Aliens, Alien3, Alien Resurrection, AvP, AvP:Requiem and Prometheus… So its a real battle for the bottom in this episode …  And the big question… Where does Alien: Isolation fit in to all of this?

In this weeks episode of Space Dock Jury, Andy rounds up Hoss and the boys with commander Lorne Green on the USS Bonanza *ahem* I mean, the original Battlestar Galactica. Lee brings a ship without a crew but a long winded explanation as to why its eligible in the shape of the USS Sulaco from Aliens and Pete, does himself no favours not only bringing the Royal ship from Star Wars The Phantom Menace, a ship with no weapons and appears to be piloted by Danny The Drug Dealer from Withnail and I.

What!? Another Rogue One minisode? Well yeah! Welcome to this weeks minisode. Where all three of us (having now all seen it) discuss the ships and new designs featured in Star Wars: Rogue One especially how one or two relate to turtles… Naturally talking about this film will require a certain levels of SPOILERS so do be warned they are contained within.

Merry Christmas! What is christmas about? Parties, gifts, food, festive feelings of good will? Nah of course not! Its being stuck in close quarters with a bunch of people and trying not to have an argument and Space Dock Jury crew are no different! This week we mark the passing of a visual effects legend Mr Ron Thornton, who was responsible for the pioneering CG visual effects work on Babylon 5, Star Trek Voyager, Deep Space 9, Captain Scarlet and many more. We are joined by Lee Stringer, who worked with Ron at his studio Foundation Imaging, to remember the Ron and his legacy on the visual effects landscape and his impact on so many nascent visual effects artists working within the industry today because of Rons influence. Ron passed away due to a liver disease and a GoFundme page was set up to pay for his medical expenses.
