Episode 10 Haggai
Send us Fan MailHaggai takes place after the Jewish exiles returned to Jerusalem and began rebuilding the Temple, only to abandon the project as they focused on their own homes and personal concerns. Through the prophet Haggai, God calls the people to reconsider their priorities and reminds them that their spiritual responsibilities should come before their pursuit of comfort and prosperity. The people respond to Haggai's message and resume construction of the Temple under the leadership of Zerubbabel and Joshua son of Jehozadak. Haggai also encourages those who are discouraged by the new Temple's modest appearance, assuring them that God is with them and that its future glory will be great. He teaches that genuine obedience and holiness matter more than outward religious actions alone. Overall, the book emphasizes the importance of putting God first, faithfully carrying out His work, and trusting in His promises for the future. In this episode we also touch on how worldly power can be taken at any moment and all should remain aware and diligent. Episode 9 Mental Wellness
Send us Fan MailThis episode is centered around how we can reduce the stigma surrounding mental health. Key ideas include normalizing conversations about mental health, improving education about mental illnesses, sharing personal experiences to increase understanding, challenging stigmatizing language and stereotypes. We also dive into the need for expanding access to mental health care, addressing discrimination and systemic barriers, respecting cultural differences, and viewing people as more than a diagnosis. We emphasize the importance of remaining open enough to be the one person to step into someone's life and help them view life from a different perspective. Prevention of death by suicide is discussed and how emotions and circumstances can be fleeting. The main takeaway from the discussion is that stigma decreases when mental health is treated as a normal part of overall health, people feel safe discussing their experiences, and support and treatment are accessible without fear of judgment.Let's encourage one another to talk about it! Episode 8 Warfare Strategy
Send us Fan MailThis episode completes the three-part series on Spiritual Warfare. In this spiritual warfare, the Bible gives us a balanced toolkit for both defense and offense. Defensively, we rely on truth, righteousness, faith, salvation, and readiness, all described as part of the armor of God in Ephesians 6. Offensively, we wield the Word of God, the sword of the Spirit, and stay constant in prayer. As soldiers in this battle, we endure like faithful servants, resist temptation, and remain rooted in God’s truth, knowing that Christ’s victory is already secured.Support the showThe content of this Podcast is to bring perspective and it is also an attempt to bring God's word. Episode 7 The Best Offense
Send us Fan MailPart two of this three-part series is focused on understanding the enemy's tactics. We look at how deception, subtle temptation, and distortion of truth are key strategies Satan uses, often disguised as something good or reasonable. We break down biblical examples, like how Satan twisted God’s word in the Garden, and how he uses doubt and accusation. For both believers and non-believers, we emphasize the importance of resisting temptation, staying grounded in truth, seeking God’s wisdom, and cultivating discernment so they’re not caught off guard by these tactics. Satan's tactics are typically the same, so it is important for us to identify these which will give us the best offense in our spiritual warfare. Let me know what you think! Episode 6 Spiritual Beings
Send us Fan MailAs the foundation for this three-part series, we examine the reality that we are in a spiritual war and that spiritual beings are part of everyday life whether or not we can see them. The focus is on recognizing these beings and discerning whether they operate under the kingdom of God or under Satan’s influence. The Bible presents unclean spirits as capable of inhabiting physical bodies, and the Gospels record instances of individuals being delivered by Jesus, demonstrating both the reality of such influence and God’s authority over it. Listeners are encouraged to consider that some outward physical manifestations may, in certain cases, point to deeper spiritual causes. Because of this, listeners are encouraged to place the entire Armor of God on each and everyday as the Apostle Paul informs believers in the New Testament. Episode 5 Compromise
Send us Fan MailIn this episode we explore how the church in Pergamum, from the Book of Revelation, faced a particular threat: compromise. Satan shifted his tactic from outright persecution to subtle infiltration, mixing worldly practices with faith. We then draw a parallel to today, how entertainment, media, and social platforms often subtly push compromise on us. The call is to stay alert. It's not about choosing one extreme or the other but staying anchored in our values, being discerning, and refusing to drift toward the middle ground that dilutes our convictions. We must remain vigilant in this day to ensure that we are not compromising, even if just a little, on God's word. The Ending
Send us Fan MailIn this episode, we continue expanding on Matthew and the discussion from episode 1. We venture out to Revelation 19 and 20 where we discuss the 'blueprint' for what is prophesied to come in Christian belief. Listeners are encouraged to learn more about how Jesus is the answer and how through His life, death and resurrection, He atones for all of our sins. Listeners are faced with the challenging question of who's kingdom are they advancing in this life, God's or Satan's. We discuss how it is revealed in Revelation that Jesus is the Word and how John depicts this in John 1:1, but also ties it to Revelation and that Jesus was present from the beginning. Jesus's life is not only a representation of God's love for us but also a reminder that God emptied Himself in order to create Jesus, so He could relate to our human experience. It's Beginning
Send us Fan MailI am grateful to kickoff season 2 of A Dash of Life Podcast! This episode is a hodgepodge; it's a mix of dealing with grief and discussing how we can come to God in our imperfectness. How situations in the Bible still have relevance today and how we may just be seeing a repeat of previous times. The main focus centered around Matthew 24 and how that mirrors some of what we see today. But I also dive into the relevance of Revelation and how we have a window of concept of what is to come. We are not there, but what we are seeing today, may just be the prelude. Dive in and let me know what you think in the comments or hit me up on Socials. Episode 31 POSW/MIA?
Send us Fan MailIn this episode we ask two profound and thought provoking questions of listeners. Are you a Prisoner of Spiritual Warfare? Or, are you Missing in Action from your life? is there something that has a hold on you? Something that is the center of how you show up to the world and how you move. Listeners are invited to review their own lives and take an assessment on whether they are locked in a spiritual battle that is not releasing them or allowing them to be free. It is not too late to become free and the only way to do that is through Jesus Christ. Jesus is the way to our Heavenly Father. There are ways to stay protected form the enemy's tactics. Prayer is one of the most powerful tools believers can use against the enemy. Listeners are also encouraged to seek out a church that is teaching directly from the word. You must confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and Savior. Ask God for forgiveness and you must also repent from your sin. No matter what it looks like, God has provided a way to Salvation. Listeners are also called to baptism and to share their own battles with others. This episode presents an intriguing outlook on spiritual battle and ways to win the spiritual war. Episode 30 Job vs God's Omnipotence
Send us Fan MailMany of us are familiar with the story of Job in the Bible. But, many of us are also not familiar with God's response to Job regarding His omnipotence. In modern day Christianity, we frequently hear the story of how Job lost everything and had different trials afterward. We also hear about how Job is pleading with God and lamenting to Him, also cursing the day he was born. After some time, Job is restored and God gives him back double of what he lost. But, after what occurrence? In chapters 38-41, God gives Job an oration of, and examples of, His omnipotence. Throughout this oration, He asks Job many different rhetorical questions to make Job think about and understand his lesser perspective, and much smaller Job is much smaller Job is compared to God. God reaffirms His all powerful sentiments and Job eventually humbles himself and repents to God. In this episode, listeners are encouraged to become more familiar with God's omnipotence which would further encourage humility from our own limited perspective. Episode 29 Lament
Send us Fan MailIn this dynamic episode we discuss the meaning of lamenting and how it pertains to God and His processes for us. We discuss lamenting to God and the importance of getting what we are carrying, all out to Him, so He can then step in and assist us with healing and moving forward. We look at specific people in the Bible that Lament to God and discuss how they went from enduring sorrow and pain to transitioning that to hope and faith. Their laments were heard by God and when we lament to Him, as His children, we can be assured that He hears us too. God is our creator and He is a compassionate God. He desires for us to lament to Him, so he can help us endure. Most notably, Jesus lamented to God, Job lamented to God, as well as Jeremiah, about the destruction of Jerusalem. Ultimately, listeners will gain insight as to the benefits of Lamenting to God, especially when occurrences happen, or seasons occur where we do not have the answers. Episode 28 Religion vs Relationship
Send us Fan MailIn the episode we explore the everlasting discussion of what is more important for salvation-Religion or Relationship (in particular, with Jesus Christ). Listeners are encouraged to understand and focus on what God wants, a living relationship with Him. The focus should be on Jesus and not religious behavior or practices. Religion can be focused on rituals and rules based primarily on fear, and was criticized by Jesus if the basis was rooted in hypocrisy or contain a lack of heart and love. Religion can be utilized as a cover for the sinful nature of man based on worldly views and also can lack the presence of God. We are saved by God's gift of grace and not the works that we have done, but for God's love for us in Christ Jesus. In His teachings, Jesus emphasized the importance of having a true relationship with Him, and in that relationship, believers are given access to God. Episode 27 Fear
Send us Fan MailIn this episode we explore the instruction from God to not be fearful. All throughout the Bible we are given the command to not be fearful and to trust God. Listeners are encouraged to not allow fear to drive their lives. The fabrication of assumed scenarios and situations is discouraged and should not be allowed as a basis for inaction. Although fear is a natural response, we are erred when this fear takes over our lives and prevents an optimal course of living. The audience is challenged to remain focused on the present and to not allow the lens of fear to be solely focused on outcome. If God has called you to something, trust and believe that in His will, He will see you through. Episode 26 Don't Mess with God
Send us Fan MailIn this episode, we explore the serious warnings throughout Scripture against treating God lightly or disrespecting His holiness. We examined powerful Old and New Testament examples where individuals or groups faced severe consequences for their rebellion, pride, or deception (such as the flood in Noah’s time, the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, Korah’s rebellion, Uzzah’s irreverence, and Ananias and Sapphira's deceit). We also tied in the prophetic voices of Joel, Amos, Zephaniah, Malachi, and Habakkuk, each emphasizing different facets of God’s character and judgment:Joel warns of the coming Day of the Lord and calls for heartfelt repentance.Amos denounces empty rituals and demands justice and righteousness.Zephaniah warns against spiritual complacency and idolatry.Malachi rebukes dishonor and insincere worship, calling for genuine devotion.Habakkuk affirms that, despite seeming delays, God’s justice will surely prevail, and "the righteous shall live by faith."Together, these prophets and examples reveal a unified message: God cannot be mocked or manipulated. He desires humble, sincere hearts, justice, and faithfulness. While He is merciful and patient, He is also holy and just, and ultimately holds all people accountable. All scripture referenced is from (KJV)Support the showThe content of this Podcast is to bring perspective and it is also an attempt to bring God's word. Send us Fan MailTake a reverent dive into one of the most misunderstood aspects of God's nature., His wrath. Are we listening when He nudges us to turn? We are reminded that God's desire is never destruction, but redemption. Wrath comes when grace is persistently ignored.
