    West Runton

Dave and Matt travel to West Runton. They start on the beach and talk about such things as the West Runton Mammoth and flint paramoudra. Then on to the Village Inn, which was the site of the now sadly-demolished West Runton Pavilion. Many well-known bands played at the venue during the 1970s and early 80s and most of the music played in the show is from bands that performed at there. Next they visit the area known as Roman Camp, one of the highest points in Norfolk; an area shaped by glaciation and medieval mining. They finish with a mention of Brian Daley, composer of the Postman Pat theme, who lived locally. Along the way they try the Soup of the Month (Butterbean and Roasted Red Pepper) only to discover that Dave had put in far too much paprika…

    Rockland St Mary

The pair visit the Broadland village of Rockland St Mary, starting at the Ted Ellis wetland reserve. After a brief mention of local UFOs they chat about local naturalist Ted Ellis and his penchant for turning the local Coypu into hats. After Dave has a stumble into a wet area of the reserve they arrive at the site of a wartime starfish decoy town, and admire the incredible bravery of those involved. After trying the Soup of the Month (a mix of lentil, butternut squash and harissa) prepared by Matt they move onto the church to discuss leylines. Then on to Rockland Broad to talk about glazed smuts and peat extraction. They finish in the studio to ramble on about

    Overstrand

Dave and Matt wander round their local village of Overstrand. The intrepid pair look at local ghostly goings on, including the infamous devil-dog Black Shuck. They peer through the trees at Lutyen’s beautiful Overstrand Hall, then walk across the Royal Cromer Golf Course and, with autumn migration in full swing, chat about the local birdlife.

The Weavers’ Way: Fields, Fleece and Footpaths

Matt and Dave take their first gentle ramble along the Weavers’ Way in North Norfolk, walking from Felbrigg to Aldborough. Along the way they explore medieval weaving, settlers from the Low Countries, Sustead’s historic church, and the quiet stories written into the landscape. With natural soundscapes, relaxed conversation, and a welcoming finish at The Cricketers pub, this debut episode is a calm, curious walk through place, history and music.
