Intonation!
Today in my corporate training class, I was busy trying to convince my clients of the importance of using an up and down intonation curve when speaking. This to me is of primary importance when trying to approximate the standard English speech or even more importantly when trying to communicate clearly! Even native American English speakers do well to try to use this cadence especially when making a presentation. Think of the monotone professor or speaker. It is so hard to remain engaged or to care at all about what they are saying. This podcast will attempt to demonstrate the importance of this speaking skill.

standard reduction
What else can you do to reduce speech in a standard manner? Their are many spoken shortcuts that are not used in writing. These shortcuts are not considered sloppy or lazy, quite the opposite. They are expected and when not used your speech can sound choppy. For more read on at www.AccentMaster.blogspot Thanks for listening! Lynn

Introduction of our new podcast
Welcome to Accent Master's prodcast. This show is just a test to see how podcasting works. In the future I hope to record shows that will go with my blogs topic. I feel that this will be an excellent medium for sharing information with those looking to improve their English pronunciation and fluency. I did enjoy making the videos that we share and hope to do more in the future, but they are much more time-consuming then the podcasts. Hopefully using podcasts I will be able to share a greater amount of information! Thanks for taking the the time to listen.
