Mortician's Assistant follows Julia Aster, a mortician running her family’s funeral home and working as a deputy coroner in her small town of Allsbury, AR. She is pulled into supernatural escapades when the ghoul Ian Carlisle—bound to her through a cursed bullet—becomes her reluctant companion. Tasked with keeping monstrous entities, and Ian, in check, Julia must face the creatures that emerge from a demonic rift outside her town, and with her new flesh-eating companion, and the Agency of Cryptid and Paranormal Investigation, find a way to shut it. As Ian unravels the secrets of his past, Julia must balance her scientific mind with her newfound spiritual powers, and both must grapple with their growing bond to each other. Together, they straddle the line between life and death, protector and prey, enemy and lover, all while navigating a twisted partnership neither can escape.
