Proverbs is practical wisdom for real life, especially for people stepping into adulthood. We need God’s grace, wise counsel, and a teachable spirit to live faithfully and well.

Living wisely means honoring God through both diligent work and careful speech. It’s a call to do excellent work, rest faithfully, and speak intentionally.

Wisdom begins with a reverent respect for God - an awe that trusts his goodness, power, and perspective above our own.

True wisdom is not just knowledge or experience, but humility, listening, and a willingness to learn from God and others.

Jesus is the victor over sin, evil, and death, and his crucifixion and resurrection reveal God’s ultimate power and love.

Jesus’ death on the cross was not about changing God’s heart, but about revealing God’s love and changing ours. Jesus is the victorious, loving King who willingly goes to the cross to save the world and call us to live in that same self-giving love. 

Because Jesus has done for us what we could never do for ourselves through the cross and resurrection, we are saved by grace for a new life of good works, living for God and others. 

The Lamb of God serves as a powerful image of how God saves us.

Jesus’ sacrifice for our sake can be understood not only as his death, but also his life lived in perfect obedience. In his life and death, Jesus gave himself for our salvation. 

Jesus’ crucifixion is God’s Word to us—revealing God’s heart of love, God’s action to reconcile and heal a broken, self-centered humanity, and God’s will for how we are to live.

To have the joyful life God has for us, we must intentionally choose what God wants for us over anything else.
