I LIVED, HERETIC: The Legend of Yarrick | Warhammer 40k Lore
https://www.patreon.com/AdeptusRidiculoushttps://www.adeptusridiculous.com/https://twitter.com/AdRidiculoushttps://shop.orchideight.com/collections/adeptus-ridiculousFew names muster up imagery of power and dedication to the Imperium like Commissar Sebastian Yarrick. Known as the Hero of Hades Hive, he is a man so dedicated to the Emperor’s light that even the Orks think he’s a literal demon. In today’s episode, we’re diving into the full, unredacted (mostly) life of the man, the myth, and the bionic eye. From his brutal upbringing on Taos 3 to his legendary rivalry with Ghazghkull Thraka, we cover why Yarrick is the ultimate "too angry to die" protagonist of the 41st Millennium. In this episode, we discuss: The Vaarden Origins: How a wealthy kid named Sebastian Vaarden became the gritty survivor known as Yarrick.Grandpa’s "Spartan" Training: Why Yarrick’s childhood was basically a survival horror game. The Klaw: The story of how he lost an arm to Warboss Ugulhard and decided to just... take the Warboss's arm as a replacement. The Bale Eye: Why he got a laser eye specifically to play into Ork superstitions. The Best Frenemy: That time Ghazghkull threw Yarrick a "celebratory parade" and spoke to him in High Gothic. The Propaganda Version: We wrap up with the "Authorized Biography" from the Regimental Standard—where Yarrick allegedly did the sign of the Aquila instead of crying at birth.Support the show

The Greatest Unsolved Art Heist in History (Was Terribly Planned)
https://www.patreon.com/AdeptusRidiculoushttps://www.adeptusridiculous.com/https://twitter.com/AdRidiculoushttps://shop.orchideight.com/collections/adeptus-ridiculousToday on Detective Ridiculous, Bricky and DK dive into the single-greatest art heist in history. It’s a $500 million mystery that remains unsolved to this day. In the early hours of St. Patrick's Day in 1990, two men dressed as Boston police officers talked their way into the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. What followed was 81 minutes of pure, unadulterated chaos. The thieves tied the two night watchmen up in the basement—one of whom was on LSD. Despite having all the time in the world, the thieves bizarrely passed up priceless masterpieces by Raphael and Michelangelo. Instead, they haphazardly sliced 13 random paintings out of their frames, rolled them up, and vanished into the night never to be found.Support the show

https://www.patreon.com/AdeptusRidiculoushttps://www.adeptusridiculous.com/https://twitter.com/AdRidiculoushttps://shop.orchideight.com/collections/adeptus-ridiculousToday, Bricky and DK are diving headfirst into the new narrative campaign, "500 Worlds: Titus". The events of Space Marine II are in the rearview mirror, and our boy Demetrian Titus has officially secured the bag: getting promoted to Captain and Master of the Watch. Bobby G has tasked him with an incredibly ambitious (and maybe impossible) goal: reclaiming the lost 500 Worlds of Ultramar.Titus heads out to the Vespator Front to secure a spooky planet called Novamagnor, a world so cursed that even Hive Fleet Leviathan actively avoided it. What Titus thought would be a "poggers" little speedrun to drop a vortex bomb in a sleeping Necron tomb immediately goes completely off the rails. We're talking Hexmark Destroyer ambushes, a literal Necron civil war spilling onto the surface, and the arrival of Nekrosor Ammenthar, the horrifying Patient Zero for the Destroyer Curse. To make matters worse, Titus has to deal with Archmagos Wytbor Oct, a massive C'tan cultist who literally holds the door open for the Necrons because he wants to free a Nightbringer Shard from a massive Tesseract Vault. It's a pyrrhic victory of epic proportions, capped off by The Rock pulling up to the outskirts of Ultramar with a cryptic text message that simply reads: "Brother. We need to talk".Support the show

The goal is to create a "Reverse-Waaagh!" effect so powerful it can break the Ork horde by exploding their heads in a massive chain reaction. The second assault on Ullanor is launched, with Koorland and a small strike team teleporting directly into the Beast's throne room. But it's a trap. Koorland comes face-to-face with the Beast, only to learn the horrifying truth: there was never just one Beast. There are six Prime-Orks. Koorland is killed by the true Beast of Beasts, who mockingly takes his title: "I am Slaughter".With hope all but extinguished, Maximus Thane of the Fists Exemplar steps up. https://www.patreon.com/AdeptusRidiculoushttps://www.adeptusridiculous.com/https://twitter.com/AdRidiculoushttps://shop.orchideight.com/collections/adeptus-ridiculousThis episode covers the climatic middle act of the War of the Beast, focusing on three books: The Hunt for Vulkan, The Beast Must Die, and Watchers in Death. The story begins with rising tensions between Terra and a secretive Mars, as Fabricator-General Kubik experiments with Ork teleportation tech, perhaps to flee the system entirely. After a near civil war is averted, information surfaces that The Beast is on Ullanor. Koorland is dispatched to find the only being who can lead the charge: the Primarch Vulkan, who is found fighting an entire Ork army alone on Caldera. Vulkan returns to lead a massive Imperial armada to Ullanor, now a terrifying "Attack Planet". The campaign culminates in a desperate assault on The Beast's "temple gargant," where Vulkan sacrifices himself in a cataclysmic explosion to kill the Ork leader. But the war is far from over. A chilling signal—"I am Slaughter"—emerges from the attack moon over Terra. In response, Koorland proposes a "hamfisted" and heretical new force of unified Astartes: the Deathwatch. As the newly formed Deathwatch battles the moon, Koorland also seeks out the long-lost Sisters of Silence to counter the Orks' psychic power.Support the show

While the High Lords flounder, Juskina Tull, Speaker for the Chartist Captains, proposes a "Proletarian Crusade," mobilizing a massive fleet of civilian and merchant ships to assault the Ork moon. The crusade successfully lands on the moon's surface, but it is a trap; the terrain itself shifts and grinds, destroying the human forces.Following the disaster, three unarmed Orks, calling themselves "ambassadors," land on Terra and demand the Imperium's surrender in perfect gothic. Before the High Lords can respond, the Imperial Palace is rocked by an attack, not from the Orks, but from Eldar Harlequins. WAR OF THE BEAST: Rocks fall, Imperial Fists Die | Warhammer 40k Lore
https://www.patreon.com/AdeptusRidiculoushttps://www.adeptusridiculous.com/https://twitter.com/AdRidiculoushttps://shop.orchideight.com/collections/adeptus-ridiculousBy mid-M32, the Imperium was in a state of relative peace and prosperity. Having recovered from the devastating Horus Heresy, the Traitor Legions were still reeling from their defeat inside the Eye of Terror, Xenos were relegated to the frontiers of Imperial space, and the stagnation and decay that would define the Imperium millennia later had not yet set in. Confident that humanity had endured its greatest challenge, the Orks in particular were underestimated and judged to have been removed as a threat since the Ullanor Crusade. This underestimation of the greenskins would prove to be disastrous when an enormous Ork planetoids began to materialize around imperial worlds, the Imperial Fists Chapter was destroyed, entire Sectors were overrun by the Greenskins and billions upon billions perished.Support the show

This episode explores the nature of the conflict as a divine proxy war, with humanity trapped in the middle. We dive into the "Covenant of Hell," an ancient pact that prevents full-blooded demons from walking the earth, and the terrifying, reality-shattering reasons why Heaven can't just send in its angelic legions. Learn how Hell wages war indirectly with half-demon abominations and twisted constructs, and how humanity has been forced to create its own holy warriors—from cloned messiahs to giant Paladins—in a desperate attempt to survive. Join us as we discuss humanity's tragic role as the frontline soldiers in a cosmic cold war fought between two superpowers who refuse to get their own hands dirty.Support the show

It may be that another has taken up his mantle, or that the real Commander is extending his lifespan through some technological process. One thing that is certain is that the breakaway Farsight Enclave maintains a strongly martial tradition closely based on the Vior'la Sept (lit: "hot-blooded"), O'Shovah's birthplace.Support the show

The Automatons, sometimes referred to as the Automaton Legion and self-denominated as both The Collective of Cyberstan and The Automaton Collective, are descendants of the Cyborgs, created to continue fighting against Super Earth and one day liberate the Cyborgs from their enslavement on Cyberstan following the end of the First Galactic War in 2084.The Illuminate, formerly the Illuminate Empire, sometimes referred to as the Illuminate Cult and self-denominated as the Squ'ith, are an advanced race of squid-like alien humanoids serving as the de facto archenemy of the Federation of Super Earth. According to a voiceline by the Democracy Officer, these aliens predate humanity's existence by millennia. They are a technologically advanced, mystical, and highly intelligent species, having gone down the path of electricity in the same way that humans went from rocks to bullets. The Terminids, sometimes referred to as the Terminid Horde or Terminid Swarm, and commonly called Bugs, are one of the enemy factions in the Second Galactic War. Having escaped the farms where they were harvested for Element-710, the Terminids engage in the violent attacks against the citizenry of Super Earth and with their un-Democratic power structure.Support the show

To enemies they appear as terrifying and sinister figures in black power armour and skull-visaged helmets. Each Chapter has its own unique cult, which is often thousands of years old. As these cults often predate the rise of the Ecclesiarchy, the Chapter cults are not simply facets of the common Imperial Cult. While the Ecclesiarchy and its lay followers worship the Emperor of Mankind as a deity, several Chapter cults regard him as merely a brilliant and inspirational man, though with scarcely less reverence. As in all things, this view of the Emperor's divinity, or lack thereof, varies from Chapter to Chapter. The chapter's own Primarch is also a major part of the Chapter's specific cult, revered as much as the Emperor.Support the show

https://www.patreon.com/AdeptusRidiculoushttps://www.adeptusridiculous.com/https://twitter.com/AdRidiculoushttps://shop.orchideight.com/collections/adeptus-ridiculousToday we are going to go over something that the Imperium doesn’t like to admit to: allying with the things they hate the most. Sometimes this is due for necessity for resources, but more often than not it is an “enemy of my enemy” situation. There are many threats to the galaxy as a whole, and some are more all-consuming than others. Though there have been instances of Xenos and Humanity allying in the face of Chaos, there is no more unifying enemy than the Tyranids. So, we are going to go over some notable times where the Imperium of Man decided to see the big picture and agree to a truce with some of the most prominent xenos in the galaxy.Support the show

POWER ARMOR: NOT JUST FOR SPACE MARINES | Warhammer 40k Lore
https://www.patreon.com/AdeptusRidiculoushttps://www.adeptusridiculous.com/https://twitter.com/AdRidiculoushttps://shop.orchideight.com/collections/adeptus-ridiculousPower Armour is a completely enclosed suit of armour, made of thick ceramite plates. The armour would be heavy and cumbersome to wear but for the electrically motivated fibre bundles within the armour, as well as the methods of direct interface such as the Black Carapace, that replicate the wearer's movement and enhance his/her strength. The Sisters of Battle use a version of power armour designed for the human shape and size, known as Sororitas Power Armour. Sisters of Battle do not have the same Black Carapace as Space Marines do, as such some patterns of their power armour are not built with direct interface in mind, thus lacking the same benefits to strength and support systems integration.Power armour is also favoured for use by agents of the Inquisition. These suits of armour enhance the user's strength, allow for operation in hostile environments, and include auxiliary systems such as vox-links and auto-senses.With their vast wealth and resources, Rogue Traders are able to aqcuire power armour, whether by legal trade or illicit means on the black market, including the various armour patterns available to the Inquisition if they have the means to afford it.The Spyrer Hunters of Necromunda are known to use extremely advanced powered armors known as Hunting Rigs.Support the show
