The Invite is a tastefully done comedy film that examines the importance of communication in relationships through a sexual lens. Despite a forgettable middle chunk, The Interview is a hilariously dumb schlocky film that should have never received the vitriol it first got when it was released. It serves as a cautionary tale as to what studios should not do when it comes to promoting a film.

Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day is a fun sci-fi action adventure film that delves into the complexities of meeting extra terrestrial life, even if parts of the film were better executed in his previous work. Despite some blemishes, I Love Boosters is a hilarious adventure comedy film that proves Boots Riley is still a unique voice in an increasingly sterile American movie system. It deserves to be seen on the big screen in a packed theater. The bookshop has been updated with Madeline Cash's Lost Lambs. One of the best novels I've read all year.

I discuss David Frankel's Devil Wears Prada 2 and David Lowery's Mother Mary. One is a fine film that banks on the references of its predecessor. Despite a stellar cast and some memorable performances, Maggie Gyllenhaal’s The Bride! is a tediously dull film that misses on the horror and the humor, but will eventually develop a cult following in the coming years. An emotionless, soulless film despite a great cast, Wuthering Heights overstays its welcome with a daunting 2 hour 16 minute runtime. Check out the bookshop.org link where I recommend Vladimir Nabokov's Pale Fire. My favorite Nabokov book and one of my favorite books I've ever read.

Bob Saget's Dirty Work stars Norm Macdonald as Mitch Weaver and Artie Lange as Sam McKenna. They are half-brothers as they start a revenge for hire business to pay off their father's surgery. It is, dare I say, one of the best comedies of the 90s that no one saw at the time but has since garnered a cult following. Nathan is out, so we got friend of the pod Dan Doherty to discuss the film. You can see Dan all over the New England area doing stand up and gambling his money away. Wow, he really took the Norm Macdonald inspiration a little too literally.
