Episodes

  1. Jaffrey - The Main Event (from The Requiem Session)

An 18 minute excerpt from the Jaffrey gathering on the day of the announcement of David Bowie's passing, with a commentary on the basis of his life's beliefs, in his own words.

  2. Jaffrey - Memory (from The Requiem Session)

A gentle meander through melodies and harmonies, with an occasional dissonance to remind you of the complexities of life. For organ and flutes. Featuring: System 100M + DEP-3 (burbles), Pro-One + UE405 (arpeggios and drones), PX-7 (organ and flutes), edited in Audacity.

  3. Jaffrey - Overture (from The Requiem Session)

First track from Jaffrey's reunion jam, on the evening of the announcement of David Bowie's death. The musical style is somewhat un-Bowie-like, and not at all what we had previously planned, but this is the path down which we were led.

  4. Ubik - Confusion Arousal

Another Ubik track. Confusion Arousal is described here: http://www.sleepeducation.org/sleep-disorders-by-category/parasomnias/confusional-arousals/overview-and-facts

  5. Ubik - Korean Mountain Air

More from the archives... it's long, but the mountain is tall. Named in memory of my walk across a mountain near Busan in South Korea.

  6. Ubik - Berserker

    Ubik 2003. I love my DEP-3.

  7. Ubik - Moonscape 3 (Transgalactic Telephony Fail)

    Another Ubik track from 2003.

  8. Aladan - Disaster in 5/4 (PX-7 version)

An experiment in unusual timing and sonic layering, completely "in the box" - where "the box" in this case is an E-mu PX-7 command station. 14 separate patterns with muting and some CCs sequenced via Song mode. In the end, it wasn't the disaster I was expecting, so the name of this track may well...

  9. Ubik - Sunbreak On A Desert Planet

Sunbreak On A Desert Planet. Ubik, 2003, hardware, DIY.

  10. Ubik - The Mines Of Mars

A brief look into the depths of the mines on Mars, where soulless machines toil without pause or thought. Ubik, 2003, hardware, live, DIY.

  11. Ubik - Space Station Omicron 1

Many sights await you as your journey takes you past Space Station Omicron 1. Ubik, 2003, hardware, live, DIY.

  12. Ubik - Moonscape 2

Another laid-back Moon song for you. Ubik 2003, all hardware, some DIY. One channel of the recording has become irrecoverably corrupted by the passage of time, so this mono rendition is all that's left.

  13. Ubik - Moonscape 1

At night, the moon and the stars will guide you. Ubik 2003, all hardware, all live, some DIY.

  14. Ubik - (The View From) Outer Solar System Transit Vehicle 638 - B7 (extended intro)

Flying around the outskirts of the galaxy, the robots are relaxed and have plenty of time on their hands to listen to some music. Ubik from 2003, all hardware, all live, some DIY.

  15. Ubik - Uptight

Ubik from 2003, all hardware, some DIY. If you're uptight, relax.

  16. Ubik - (The View from) Outer Solar System Transit Vehicle 638-B7

Working title was "Dog Butter". MS-20, another analogue synth (not sure which), DIY drum circuits, effects. Mixed on a CR1604-VLZ.
