Dog Soldiers is a 2002 English action horror film written, directed and edited by Neil Marshall in his feature directorial debut.Starring Sean Pertwee, Kevin McKidd, Emma Cleasby and Liam Cunningham.The film follows a squad of soldiers fighting to survive an attack by a pack of werewolves during a military training exercise in the Scottish Highlands.

Brain Damage is a 1988 American comedy horror film written and directed by Frank Henenlotter.It stars Rick Hearst in his debut acting role as Brian, a young man who becomes acquainted with a talking parasite known as Aylmer (voiced by John Zacherle) that injects him with an addictive fluid that causes euphoric hallucinations; in return, Aylmer demands that Brian allow him to feed on the brains of other humans.

From Beyond is a 1986 science-fiction body horror film directed by Stuart Gordon, loosely based on the short story of the same name by H. P. Lovecraft. It was written by Dennis Paoli, Gordon and Brian Yuzna, and stars Jeffrey Combs, Barbara Crampton, Ken Foree and Ted Sorel.It centers on a pair of scientists attempting to stimulate the pineal gland with a device called the Resonator, with the unforeseen result of their perceiving creatures from another dimension. The creatures drag the head scientist into their world, returning him as a grotesque shape-shifting monster that preys upon the others at the laboratory.

The Gate is a 1987 supernatural horror film directed by Tibor Takács and starring Stephen Dorff in his film debut.The film follows two young boys who accidentally release a horde of demons from their backyard through a large hole in the ground.

The Conjuring 2 is a 2016 American supernatural horror film directed by James Wan.The screenplay is by Chad Hayes, Carey W. Hayes, Wan, and David Leslie Johnson.It is a sequel to 2013's The Conjuring, the second installment in The Conjuring series, and the third installment in The Conjuring Universe franchise.Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga reprise their roles as paranormal investigators and authors Ed and Lorraine Warren from the first film.The film follows the Warrens as they travel to England to assist the Hodgson family, who are experiencing poltergeist activity at their Enfield council house in 1977, which later became referred to as the Enfield poltergeist.

I Know What You Did Last Summer is a 1997 American slasher film directed by Jim Gillespie and written by Kevin Williamson.It stars Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe, and Freddie Prinze Jr., with supporting roles played by Johnny Galecki, Bridgette Wilson, Anne Heche, and Muse Watson.The first installment in the I Know What You Did Last Summer franchise, it is loosely based on the 1973 novel by Lois Duncan.The film centers on four teenage friends who are stalked by a hook-wielding killer one year after covering up a car accident in which they supposedly killed a man.It also draws inspiration from the urban legend known as "the Hook", as well as the slasher films Prom Night (1980) and The House on Sorority Row (1982).

Dawn of the Dead is a 1978 zombie horror film written, directed, and edited by George A. Romero, and produced by Richard P. Rubinstein. An American-Italian international co-production, it is the second film in Romero's series of zombie films, and though it contains no characters or settings from the preceding film Night of the Living Dead (1968), it shows the larger-scale effects of a zombie apocalypse on society. In the film, a phenomenon of unidentified origin has caused the reanimation of the dead, who prey on human flesh. David Emge, Ken Foree, Scott Reiniger, and Gaylen Ross star as survivors of the outbreak who barricade themselves inside a suburban shopping mall amid mass hysteria.

Christmas Bloody Christmas is a 2022 American Christmas-themed horror film directed and written by Joe Begos. It follows a robotic Santa Claus who goes on a killing spree on Christmas Eve. Starring: Riley Dandy, Sam Delich, Jonah Ray Rodrigues,  Abraham Benrubi, Dora Madison, Jeremy Gardner, Jeff Daniel, and Kansas Bowling. The film was released on December 9, 2022 and received mixed reviews from critics.

Black Christmas is a 1974 Canadian slasher film produced and directed by Bob Clark, and written by Roy Moore. It stars Olivia Hussey, Keir Dullea, Margot Kidder, and John Saxon. The story follows a group of sorority sisters who receive threatening phone calls and are eventually stalked and murdered by a killer during the Christmas season.

Frankenhooker is a 1990 American black comedy horror film co-written and directed by Frank Henenlotter. Loosely inspired by Mary Shelley's 1818 novel Frankenstein. The film stars James Lorinz as medical school dropout Jeffrey Franken and former Penthouse Pet Patty Mullen as the title character.

Basket Case is a 1982 American horror film written and directed by Frank Henenlotter in his feature directorial debut. Produced by Edgar Ievins, the film stars Kevin Van Hentenryck as Duane Bradley, a young man who seeks vengeance on the doctors and nurses who performed an unwanted surgery that separated him from his deformed conjoined twin brother Belial, whom Duane hides in a large wicker basket.

Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers is a 1988 American slasher film directed by Dwight H. Little & written by Alan B. McElroy Starring: Donald Pleasence, Ellie Cornell, Danielle Harris in her film debut, and Michael Pataki. It is the fourth entry in the Halloween franchise and a direct sequel to Halloween II (1981), and marks the return of Michael Myers as the primary antagonist, ignoring the events of Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982).

The Fog is a 1980 supernatural horror film directed by John Carpenter, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Debra Hill. It stars Adrienne Barbeau, Jamie Lee Curtis, Tom Atkins, Janet Leigh and Hal Holbrook. It tells the story of a strange, glowing fog that sweeps over a small coastal town in Northern California.

The Shining is a 1980 psychological horror film produced and directed by Stanley Kubrick and co-written with novelist Diane Johnson. It is based on Stephen King's 1977 novel of the same name and stars Jack Nicholson, Danny Lloyd, Shelley Duvall, and Scatman Crothers. The film presents the descent into insanity of a recovering alcoholic and aspiring novelist who takes a job as winter caretaker for a haunted resort hotel with his wife and clairvoyant son.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge is a 1985 American supernatural slasher film directed by Jack Sholder and written by David Chaskin. It stars Mark Patton, Kim Myers, Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger, and Robert Rusler. It is the second installment in the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. The film follows Jesse Walsh, a teenager who begins having recurring nightmares about Freddy Krueger after moving into the former home of Nancy Thompson from the first film.

Friday the 13th Part 3 is a 1982 slasher film directed by Steve Miner. Starring Dana Kimmell, Paul Kratka, and Richard Brooker. It is the sequel to Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981) and the third installment in the Friday the 13th franchise. Set directly after the events of the previous films, the plot follows a teenage girl and her friends who go on a trip to a house near Crystal Lake where a wounded Jason Voorhees has taken refuge until re-emerging for another killing spree.

28 Days Later is a 2002 British post-apocalyptic survival horror film directed by Danny Boyle and written by Alex Garland. It stars Cillian Murphy as a bicycle courier who awakens from a coma to discover the accidental release of a highly contagious, aggression-inducing virus has caused the breakdown of society. Naomie Harris, Christopher Eccleston, Megan Burns, and Brendan Gleeson appear in supporting roles.

The Burning is a 1981 American slasher film directed by Tony Maylam, and starring Brian Matthews, Leah Ayres, Brian Backer, Larry Joshua, and Lou David. Its plot follows a summer camp caretaker who is horribly burnt from a prank gone wrong, where he seeks vengeance at a nearby summer camp years later. The film marks the debuts of actors Jason Alexander, Fisher Stevens, and Holly Hunter.

Psycho is a 1960 American slasher movie directed by Alfred Hitchcock. It is set in Arizona and California. It is considered to be one of the first modern horror movies since modern horror began in the 1960s. Starring: Anthony Perkins, Janet Leigh, Vera Miles & John Gavin.

The Slumber Party Massacre (also known as The Slumber Party Murders in the United Kingdom) is a 1982 American slasher film Produced and Directed by Amy Jones and written by Rita Mae Brown. It is the first instalment in the Slumber Party Massacre series, and stars Michelle Michaels, Robin Stille, and Michael Villella. The film follows a high school senior who gathers her friends for a slumber party, unaware that an escaped power drill-wielding killer is loose in the neighbourhood.

Paranormal Activity is a 2007 American supernatural horror film produced, written, directed, photographed and edited by Oren Peli. It centers on a young couple (Katie Featherston and Micah Sloat) who are haunted by a supernatural presence inside their home. They then set up a camera to document what is haunting them.

Friday the 13th is a 2009 American slasher film directed by Marcus Nispel, and written by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. It is the twelfth installment in the Friday the 13th franchise. The film stars Jared Padalecki, Danielle Panabaker, Aaron Yoo, Amanda Righetti, Travis Van Winkle, and Derek Mears. It follows Clay Miller as he searches for his missing sister, Whitney, who is captured by Jason Voorhees while camping in woodland at Crystal Lake.

Drag Me To Hell is a 2009 American supernatural horror film directed and co-written by Sam Raimi with Ivan Raimi. Starring Alison Lohman, Justin Long, Lorna Raver, Dileep Rao, David Paymer, and Adriana Barraza. The story focuses on a loan officer, who, because she has to prove to her boss that she can make the "hard decisions" at work, chooses not to extend an elderly woman's mortgage. The old woman secretly places a retaliatory curse on her that, after three days of escalating torment, will plunge her into the depths of Hell to burn for eternity.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a 1974 American independent horror film produced, co-composed, and directed by Tobe Hooper, who co-wrote it with Kim Henkel. The film stars Marilyn Burns, Paul A. Partain, Edwin Neal, Jim Siedow, and Gunnar Hansen. The plot follows a group of friends who fall victim to a family of cannibals while on their way to visit an old homestead.

Child's Play 2 is a 1990 American supernatural slasher film and the direct sequel to Child's Play, written by Don Mancini and directed by John Lafia. It is the second installment in the Child's Play franchise and set two years after the first film; the plot follows Chucky continuing his pursuit for Andy Barclay, who was placed in foster care, and transferring his soul into him after being resurrected. Re-Animator is a 1985 horror film Directed by Stuart Gordon. Based on the 1922 H. P. Lovecraft serial novelette "Herbert West–Reanimator". Starring: Jeffery Combs, Bruce Abbott, David Gale & Barbara Crampton. The film is about a medical student, Herbert West, who has invented a reagent which can re-animate deceased bodies.

Hatchet is a 2006 American slasher film written and directed by Adam Green. The film has an ensemble cast, including Joel David Moore, Kane Hodder, Deon Richmond, Tamara Feldman, Richard Riehle, Mercedes McNab, Robert Englund, and Tony Todd. The plot follows a group of tourists on a New Orleans haunted swamp tour, who accidentally get stranded in the wilderness, only to be hunted by a vengeful, supernatural deformed man who kills anyone that enters the swamp. The film's successes spawned a film series including three sequels. A comic book series followed thereafter.

The Hills Have Eyes is a 1977 American horror film written, directed, and edited by Wes Craven. Starring Susan Lanier, Michael Berryman Martin Speer, Robert Houston and Dee Wallace. The film follows the Carters, a suburban family targeted by a family of cannibal savages after becoming stranded in the Nevada desert.

Silent Hill is a 2006 supernatural horror film directed by Christophe Gans and written by Roger Avary. Based on the video game series of the same name published by Konami. The first installment in the Silent Hill film series, it stars Radha Mitchell, Sean Bean, Laurie Holden, Deborah Kara Unger, Kim Coates, Tanya Allen, Alice Krige and Jodelle Ferland. The plot follows Rose da Silva, who takes her adopted daughter, Sharon, to the town of Silent Hill, for which Sharon cries while sleepwalking. Rose is involved in a car accident near the town and awakens to find Sharon missing. While searching for her daughter, she fights a local cult and begins to uncover Sharon's connection to the town's dark past.

The Funhouse is a 1981 American slasher film directed by Tobe Hooper, written by Larry Block. Starring Elizabeth Berridge, Kevin Conway, William Finley, Cooper Huckabee, Miles Chapin, Largo Woodruff, Wayne Doba, and Sylvia Miles. The film's plot concerns four teenagers who become trapped in a dark ride at a local carnival in Iowa and are stalked by a mentally disabled murderous carnie.

Sleepaway Camp is a 1983 American slasher film written and directed by Robert Hiltzik. Starring Felissa Rose, Katherine Kamhi, Paul DeAngelo, Mike Kellin, and Christopher Collet.

The Purge is a 2013 American dystopian action horror film written and directed by James DeMonaco. James Sandin and his family retire for the night in their gated home in California. An intruder causes trouble and lands them in the Purge, a 12-hour period when all criminal activities are legalised. Starring: Ethan Hawke, Lena Headey, Adelaide Kane, Max Burkholder and Rhys Wakefield.

Final Destination is a 2000 American supernatural horror film directed by James Wong, with a screenplay written by Wong, Glen Morgan, and Jeffrey Reddick, based on a story by Reddick. It is the first installment in the Final Destination film series and stars Devon Sawa, Ali Larter, Kerr Smith, Seann William Scott and Tony Todd. Sawa portrays a teenager who cheats death after having a premonition of a catastrophic plane explosion. He and several of his classmates leave the plane before the explosion occurs, but Death later takes the lives of those who were meant to die on the plane.

Child's Play is a 1988 American supernatural slasher film directed by Tom Holland, from a screenplay he co-wrote with Don Mancini and John Lafia. It is the first film in the Child's Play series and the first installment to feature the character Chucky. It stars Catherine Hicks, Alex Vincent, Chris Sarandon and Brad Dourif as Chucky. Its plot follows a widowed mother who gives a doll to her son, unaware that the doll is possessed by the soul of a serial killer.

The Conjuring is a 2013 American supernatural horror film directed by James Wan and written by Chad Hayes and Carey W. Hayes. It is the inaugural film in The Conjuring Universe franchise. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga star as Ed and Lorraine Warren, paranormal investigators and authors associated with prominent cases of haunting. Their purportedly real-life reports inspired The Amityville Horror story and film franchise. The Warrens come to the assistance of the Perron family, who experienced increasingly disturbing events in their newly occupied farmhouse in Rhode Island in 1971.

My Bloody Valentine is a 1981 Canadian slasher film directed by George Mihalka and written by John Beaird. It stars Paul Kelman, Lori Hallier, and Neil Affleck. The plot tells about a group of young adults who decide to throw a Valentine's Day party, only to incur the vengeful wrath of a maniac in mining gear who begins a killing spree.

Wrong Turn is a 2003 slasher film directed by Rob Schmidt & written by Alan B. McElroy. Starring: Desmond Harrington, Eliza Dushku, Emmanuelle Chriqui & Jeremy Sisto. The film follows a group of six individuals being stalked by inbred cannibal mountain men in the woods of West Virginia.

The Amityville Horror is a 1979 American supernatural horror film directed by Stuart Rosenberg. Based on Jay Anson's 1977 book of the same name Starring James Brolin, Margot Kidder, and Rod Steiger. The film follows a young couple who purchase a home haunted by combative supernatural forces.

A Nightmare on Elm Street is a 1984 American supernatural slasher film written and directed by Wes Craven and produced by Robert Shaye. It is the first installment in the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. Starring: Heather Langenkamp, John Saxon, Robert Englund, Johnny Depp and John Saxon. The film's plot concerns a group of teenagers who are targeted by Freddy Krueger, an undead former child killer who can murder people through their dreams, as retribution against their parents who burned him alive.

Pet Sematary is a 1989 American supernatural horror film and the first adaptation of Stephen King's 1983 novel of the same name. After tragedy strikes, a grieving father discovers an ancient burial ground behind his home with the power to raise the dead. Directed by Mary Lambert and written by Stephen King. Starring: Dale Midkiff, Denise Crosby, Blaze Berdahl, Fred Gwynne, and Miko Hughes as Gage Creed.

Unfriended is a supernatural horror film directed by Levan Gabriadze. Six high school students are in a Skype conversation which is haunted by a student who was bullied by them and committed suicide. The film is told almost entirely through a screencast of a MacBook. The film stars Shelley Hennig, Moses Storm, Renee Olstead, Will Peltz, Jacob Wysocki, and Courtney Halverson.

Gremlins is a 1984 American comedy horror film directed by Joe Dante & written by Chris Columbus. Starring: Zach Galligan, Phoebe Cates, Hoyt Axton, Dick Miller with Howie Mandel providing the voice of Gizmo. The story follows a young man who receives a strange creature as a pet, which then spawns other creatures who transform into small, destructive, mischievous monsters that all wreak havoc on a whole town on Christmas Eve.
