We ‘Obliterated’ Iran Twice… So Why Are We Still Here?
Title“We ‘Obliterated’ Iran Twice… So Why Are We Still Here?”SubtitleFrom a working nuclear deal to an endless crisis: Are we winning this war in Iran, or are they lying to us?They keep telling us we’re winning.Iran, we’re told, has been “obliterated.” The pressure is working. The enemy is cornered. But as the Strait remains effectively choked, oil prices surge, and diplomacy collapses, one question refuses to go away:Are we winning this war in Iran, or are they lying to us?Not long ago, Iran’s nuclear program was boxed in by the JCPOA. It wasn’t perfect, but the trade was clear: sanctions relief and economic breathing room in exchange for strict, verifiable limits on nuclear activity. Enrichment capped, stockpiles cut, centrifuges reduced, inspectors on the ground. The risk was managed and the world had time and visibility. Then the deal was torn up.Branded “the worst deal ever,” it was scrapped without a serious replacement. “Maximum pressure” became the slogan, as if hashtags and sanctions alone could conjure a better agreement from a country that had just watched the U.S. walk away from its word.Predictably, Iran responded by stepping away from its commitments. Enrichment levels rose, stockpiles grew, and advanced centrifuges spun up. The breakout time shrank. The nuclear box we had built was kicked open.Is that winning—or is that the opposite, dressed up as toughness?Last year, a major strike on Iranian targets was sold as proof of strength—Trump’s long‑promised “obliteration.” It was presented as decisive, the kind of blow that would reset the board and force Iran to back down.Yet here we are again. If Iran was “obliterated,” why are we back in a crisis over its nuclear program? Why are we still talking about its regional power, its missiles, its proxies? What did “obliterate” actually mean if we’re now being told we might have to do it again? If you obliterate someone twice, did you ever really obliterate them at all—or are they lying about what they accomplished? This year, the desperation went diplomatic. Vice President JD Vance spent 21 hours in talks with Iranian officials, trying to claw back constraints that looked an awful lot like the ones we had under the JCPOA.Twenty‑one hours. No deal. No framework. No off‑ramp.Publicly, we’re told this is somehow “bad news for Iran” and that we’re in a position of strength. But failed negotiations, an advancing nuclear program, and no exit plan don’t look like strength. They look like a crisis no one wants to admit they created.Meanwhile, the Strait is not functioning normally. Shipping is threatened, oil prices are rising, and ordinary people far from any negotiating table are paying more at the pump and in the checkout line. More U.S. forces and hardware pour into an already tense region, increasing the odds that one mistake becomes something far worse. And through it all, the message from the top doesn’t change: this is winning, this is strength, this is necessary.Look at the timeline instead of the talking points. We went from a constrained nuclear program and a functioning deal to an unconstrained program, a shattered deal, a theatrically labeled “obliteration” that solved nothing, failed talks, a strained chokepoint, and rising global costs. So we have to keep asking:Are we winning this war in Iran—or are they lying to us about what they broke, what they bombed, and what it’s really costing?

America Flunked the Epstein Test
In this episode of Almost Above Average, Chris dives into the Epstein files and asks a simple question nobody in power seems eager to answer: why are other countries taking action while the United States does… basically nothing? From princes in the U.K. getting dragged into questioning, to former prime ministers in Norway facing corruption charges, to France and even small Baltic states launching trafficking and financial crime probes, Chris walks through how governments around the world are actually going after their own when their names show up next to Epstein’s.Then he turns back to America — the country at the center of Epstein’s operation, whose president appears repeatedly in the documents and once vowed to “release all the files” — and breaks down how the U.S. managed to turn the biggest child‑sex‑trafficking scandal of our era into a brief news cycle and a whole lot of silence. If you think the people named in those files shouldn’t be the same people deciding what we’re allowed to see, this episode is for you.

Why is TSA funding currently in crisis?
[FIRST 125 CHARS] Why are TSA lines getting longer? Because Trump is holding the country hostage for his SAVE Act. Tag someone who needs to hear this! The chaos at airports is real. With 174-minute wait times, travelers are feeling the pressure as TSA struggles without funding. Meanwhile, ICE agents step in without the proper training, only adding to the confusion. This isn't just about travel delays; it's a strategic move to undermine the Democratic vote. The SAVE Act could strip voting rights from millions by enforcing strict ID requirements, making it harder for people to vote. We’re witnessing a critical moment in our democracy. What can we do? Call your representatives and demand action. Full discussion in bio!

How Connor’s 50‑Foot Mural Is Redefining Disability, Storytelling, and What It Means to Go Big or Go Home
How Connor’s 50‑Foot Mural Is Redefining Disability, Storytelling, and What It Means to Go Big or Go Home.On this episode of Almost Above Average, Chris talks with filmmaker Kari Barber, author Ashleigh (Ashley) Goodwin, and artist–advocate Connor Fogal about The Muralist and the children’s book Different Like Me: Connor Can. You Can, Too. Together they tell the story of how Connor, who lives with cerebral palsy, used a small brush strapped to his head to paint a 50‑foot public mural at the University of Nevada, Reno—and how that project is changing the way people think about disability, creativity, and what it really means to “go big or go home.”Watch, read, and connect here:Episode & showYouTube – Almost Above Average Podcast:https://youtube.com/@almostaboveaveragepod?si=BYO8cR8KIHWcr2uCThe film & Kari BarberUNR feature on The Muralist:https://www.unr.edu/nevada-today/news/2025/the-muralist-premiereBehind‑the‑scenes article “Making ‘The Muralist’”:https://doublescoop.art/making-the-muralist/Trailer for The Muralist:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnPQvH8f0rEKari Barber – Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/docu.kari/Kari Barber – LinkedIn:https://www.linkedin.com/in/kari-barber-38b4505Connor Fogal – artist & advocateUNR profile on Connor and his mural:https://www.unr.edu/nevada-today/news/2024/connor-fogal-emerald-bay-muralConnor on Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/_mylow_nv_/Ashley (Ashleigh) Goodwin & the bookDifferent Like Me: Connor Can. Trump’s “Golden Age” State of the Union Was One Long Lie
Donald Trump just gave his 2026 State of the Union — and it was a disaster. In this video, I break down the wildest moments from the speech: the fake “golden age” economy, the bogus crime stats, the migrant fear‑mongering, the “cheating is rampant” election rant, and that ridiculous $18 trillion claim. I roll the clips, fact‑check them in real time, and show you how far this speech was from reality. But the most telling part isn’t what he said… it’s what he didn’t. While Epstein survivors sat in the gallery demanding the truth and the release of the Epstein files, Trump never mentioned them once. No acknowledgment. No promise of transparency. Nothing.👀 In this video:Trump’s lies about inflation, gas prices, and “roaring” growthHis migrant “murderers” claim and crime spinThe “cheating is rampant” voter fraud mythWhy ignoring Epstein survivors on that stage is a massive red flag🎙 I’m Chris McIntyre, host of the Almost Above Average podcast. “Trump, Nobel Prizes, and World War III: How Greenland and Venezuela Got Dragged In”
Trump allegedly threatened Denmark over Greenland, invaded Venezuela for oil, and tried to hustle a Nobel Peace Prize on top of it all—while openly saying he’d “focus on what’s best for the US” only after not getting the award. In this episode, we break down the wild letter to Denmark, the Venezuela oil grab, the private bank accounts, NATO fallout, and why some are calling this a straight-line path toward World War III and a constitutional crisis at home. If you’ve ever wondered how far one man’s obsession with beating Obama can push global politics, this conversation will piss you off, blow your mind, and make you question how close we are to the edge.

They are cancelling Elections
This episode of Almost Above Average features Chris McIntyre and Jtreezy discussing the political and economic fallout from Trump’s tariffs and an upcoming Supreme Court ruling that could overturn them. They explain that Trump originally imposed tariffs which raised consumer prices and harmed the economy, later tried to roll them back, and then saw those changes legally challenged. The Supreme Court has been deliberating whether the tariffs were illegal, and a decision is expected soon.Jtreezy quotes a Fox News headline suggesting the Court might “do Trump a favor” by striking down the tariffs. He and Chris criticize that framing, arguing that removing the tariffs would benefit the United States, not Trump personally. They note that most experts and polls—across political and international lines—view the tariffs as harmful, citing price hikes of up to 2,000% on some goods. They predict that if the Court overturns the tariffs, Trump and right-wing media will twist the narrative. Instead of admitting his policy caused harm, they expect Trump will blame “Democrats” for undermining him, claim credit for any economic improvement, and use it as a talking point before the midterms. The hosts close by urging listeners to recognize the truth: if the economy improves after the tariffs are struck down, that would prove Trump’s economic policies were damaging and illegal, worsening both inflation and national debt—which they say now approaches $40 trillion.

The Spokesperson of a Lie Machine: The Rise of Karoline Leavitt
Look at what happened next:The Social Security dead‑people mythElon Musk pushed a viral claim that there were “tens of millions” of dead people supposedly getting Social Security checks, waving around a table of improbably old ages as proof of massive fraud.Leavitt took that talking point onto Fox, saying the administration “suspects tens of millions of deceased people are receiving fraudulent Social Security payments,” using it as evidence of Trump’s crackdown on waste and abuse.Fact‑checkers and the Social Security Administration’s own data demolished that story. AFP, CBS and others showed that fewer than about 68.5 million people get benefits at all, and that while there are documented mistakes—including payments to roughly 24,000 dead people—the scale is nowhere near “tens of millions.”In other words, Musk confused Social Security numbers with actual benefit payments, and Leavitt echoed his exaggeration from the podium and on TV as if it were confirmed fact.Rewriting history with “peace through strength”In another interview, Leavitt claimed that “nobody understands ‘peace through strength’ better than President Trump” and that he “came up with that motto,” crediting him with originating a phrase conservatives have used for generations.Fact‑checks quickly pointed out that “peace through strength” was a key slogan of Ronald Reagan’s foreign policy in the 1980s and was used even earlier by Barry Goldwater, with roots that go all the way back to Roman political thought.Trump did not invent the phrase; Leavitt was attempting to retroactively crown him as the author of an entire doctrine, turning basic history into just another branding exercise.Turning corrections into “hoaxes”When Trump’s second‑term White House stumbled through a messy freeze on certain federal spending, reporters rightly pressed Leavitt for clarity on who would be hurt and whether the policy was being walked back.Instead of admitting confusion or error, she brushed the chaos off as “uncertainty in this room among the media,” while Trump’s communications team blasted out talking points suggesting that reports of retreat or correction were just another “hoax” from the press. In each case, the pattern is the point: exaggerate or invent wrongdoing by Trump’s enemies, misrepresent history to glorify him, and frame any pushback as proof that the media is lying to you again. It is easy to shrug off any press secretary as “just doing their job.” Every administration spins; every spokesperson cherry‑picks. But what Leavitt is doing is qualitatively different when she repeats baseless numbers about Social Security fraud, rewrites decades of political history, and redefines good‑faith reporting as a hoax. Those aren’t harmless soundbites. Seniors hear “tens of millions of dead people” gaming the system and begin to question whether Social Security itself is legitimate. Voters hear that Trump literally invented “peace through strength” and absorb the idea that he is uniquely responsible for any moment of calm in a chaotic world. Citizens watch corrections and basic journalism get relabeled as “lies,” and slowly lose any sense of what a neutral fact even looks like.Karoline Leavitt did not create that information war, but she chose to be its face. She walked into the briefing room, promised to tell the truth, and then set about methodically distorting it—sometimes by inflating numbers to conspiracy levels, sometimes by pretending history started in 2016.The harm is not just in one lie or one clip; it is in the cumulative erosion of reality when the person behind the seal of the United States stands there, day after day, insisting that the only thing you can trust is her boss’s story.

From Patrol to Purpose: How Mayor Jacques K. Gilbert Leads Apex Through Growth and Grace
From Patrol to PurposeEvery story has a turning point—the moment when personal pain transforms into public purpose. For Mayor Jacques K. Gilbert of Apex, North Carolina, that moment came through years of serving on the front lines of his community. From his beginnings as a police officer to his current role as mayor, Gilbert’s journey reflects what it means to lead with empathy, listen deeply, and remain rooted in connection.Gilbert shared how his experience in law enforcement shaped his philosophy of leadership. “You learn quickly that people don’t just want to be policed—they want to be heard.” That insight continues to guide him as mayor, where effective communication has become the cornerstone of his approach to community issues, from public safety to town growth. As Apex continues to expand, balancing development and preserving community spirit has been one of his greatest challenges. Growth brings opportunity, but also tension—between newcomers and long-time residents, innovation and infrastructure, ambition and sustainability. Gilbert’s answer is conversation: regular town halls, social media outreach, and face-to-face community events that keep residents engaged and informed. One of the most striking parts of his story comes from his openness about mental health, especially among men. Having faced his own struggles, Gilbert emphasizes the importance of vulnerability in leadership. “When leaders admit they don’t have it all together, it gives others permission to seek help too.” That message hits home in a culture where strength is often measured by silence. He believes healing begins with dialogue—whether through storytelling, mentorship, or simple human presence. His willingness to talk about mental health challenges not only destigmatizes the issue, but also deepens his connection with the community he serves. In an age when national headlines dominate our attention, Gilbert reminds us that local politics often impact daily life far more directly. The decisions made in town halls—about roads, housing, parks, and public safety—shape the character of a community. His leadership underscores a truth many overlook: meaningful change often starts right where we live.Mayor Jacques K. Gilbert’s journey is more than a career path—it’s a life of service built on courage, compassion, and connection. His message is simple yet profound: everyone has a story worth telling, and sharing it might be the key to healing and progress.Leadership Through ListeningThe Power of VulnerabilityLocal Politics, Real ImpactA Mayor’s MessageFollow Mayor Jacques Gilbert on IGhttps://www.instagram.com/mayorjacquesgilbert?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet&igsh=ZDNlZDc0MzIxNw==

From Heavy Metal to Healing: The Sound Journey of Garth Robertson
When most people imagine sound healing, they might picture serene spas or the soft hum of crystal bowls—not heavy metal guitars and psychedelic journeys deep in the jungles of Peru. But for Garth Robertson, sound practitioner and musician, the road to helping others through vibration and music started with an electric guitar, a childhood shaped by relocation, and an openness to experience and transformation.Garth's story begins in central Florida, where supportive parents and the influence of his grandfather’s country bands planted the seeds for a lifelong musical obsession. Moving to Roxboro, NC brought culture shock and loneliness, which he filled with countless hours of guitar practice—music quickly became both a creative outlet and a best friend. Through adolescence, rock concerts, and playing in heavy metal bands, Garth learned firsthand how music could move energy, shape emotion, and bond people together. The biggest turning point came not from notes strummed on a fretboard but from an ayahuasca ceremony in Peru, where indigenous and mestizo traditions exposed him to the deep spiritual potential of sound, plants, and intentional healing. Plant medicine transformed Garth’s perspective on art, healing, and community, helping him release self-judgment and discover unconditional self-compassion. Through these profound experiences, he realized that healing was less about substances or even the instruments, and more about the safe, vulnerable space created for personal growth.Today, Garth leads sound ceremonies across the Triangle, blending ancient and modern instruments—didgeridoos, flutes, bowls, handpans—with the intuition and empathy honed on his journey. He prefers the term “sound practitioner” over “sound healer,” emphasizing that all healing is self-healing, activated by relaxation, vulnerability, and positive intention rather than a single frequency or practitioner. The “science of sound” remains ripe for study, but countless stories from his sessions—release from grief, relief from pain, and moments of personal breakthrough—speak to the power of creating a safe sonic space.Garth’s advice for aspiring sound practitioners: start out of love and curiosity, not money. Mastery grows from daily practice and patience—not instant results. He encourages beginners to spend just 15 minutes a day exploring instruments, and reminds everyone that growth happens when we offer ourselves the same compassion we wish for others. Even his wife, who once claimed not to sing or play, now writes powerful lyrics for their collaborative music prompted by shared moments of inspiration.Based in Pittsboro, but active across Apex, Raleigh, Durham, and Wake County, Garth welcomes clients for both group and private sessions. Amazon Workers Sound the Alarm: CAUSE Exposes the Human Cost of Union-Busting in North Carolina
Amazon’s silent war against its own warehouse employees in North Carolina has reached a dangerous tipping point, and the world can no longer look away. CAUSE—Carolina Amazonians United for Solidarity & Empowerment—has erupted into public consciousness as workers in Raleigh, Durham, and across the region risk everything to demand the most basic rights: fair pay and human dignity.Behind the scenes, courageous souls like founding member Mary Hill are witnessing a pressure cooker of retaliation, intimidation, and anti-union propaganda. As Amazon’s aggressive tactics mount, stories are emerging of workers being fired without warning, pressured out of their jobs, and smeared by company-led misinformation. These aren’t just statistics—they’re your neighbors, your friends, the backbone of your community, quietly suffering as Amazon tries to crush their voices. The dire truth: if CAUSE loses this battle, it sends a signal to every corporate giant that people are expendable, and justice can wait. The stakes could not be higher. Each day, more employees face ruthless union-busting strategies designed to make them feel powerless and alone—and many have already walked away, leaving behind careers, families, and hope. But the story is far from over. CAUSE’s members are fighting for everyone who believes in workplace justice, sounding the alarm before Amazon’s unchecked power becomes a national crisis. Their rallying cry is urgent: support this movement, amplify their voices, and help turn the tide before fair work in America becomes a thing of the past. The time to act is now. If you believe workers deserve respect and a fair chance, join the cause, share their stories, and make your voice heard—before it’s too late.

Rising Strong: Quintus McDonald’s Journey from the Gridiron to Community Greatness
Quintus McDonald’s life reads like a playbook on resilience, perseverance, and transformation. Growing up in North Carolina with challenges that might have derailed many, he carved a path forward through football—a pursuit that carried him to national recognition at Penn State and onto the NFL as a linebacker. But while the spotlight of success shone bright, the tougher battles raged off the field.Like so many athletes, McDonald faced struggles with addiction, identity, and purpose once the cheering faded. Yet, it is here—not in his biggest tackles—that his most important victories emerged. Through IM Recycling, he has built a business with integrity at its core—where doing the right thing for people and the planet takes precedence over profit. His vision for the company extends far beyond recycling: it’s about reshaping communities, uplifting lives, and leaving a legacy that lasts far longer than a sports career.Mentorship also runs deep through his story. Playing under legendary coaches and alongside teammates at Penn State shaped his understanding of leadership, discipline, and grit, but it was also mentors off the field who helped him realize the true measure of success. Today, McDonald pays it forward, guiding others who may be walking their own difficult paths, offering both accountability and inspiration. In our conversation, Quintus reflected not only on his football years and the controversies surrounding collegiate sports, but also on life after the stadiums went silent. He speaks with gratitude for the lessons earned through adversity and a clear hunger to keep creating opportunities for others. His aspirations now reach toward the 2028 Olympics and new community programs, designed to inspire the next generation to rise above circumstance.Quintus McDonald’s story is a reminder that resilience is not just about bouncing back—it’s about breaking through. It’s about discovering purpose in pain, leading with integrity, and daring to shape a future bigger than yourself. From his days as a relentless force on the field to his mission today as a business leader and mentor, Quintus continues to prove that true greatness isn’t measured by records or recognition, but by the lives we impact and the legacies we leave behind.Follow Quintus Macdonald on SocialsMain Social Media & WebsitesInstagram: @quintusmcdonaldX (Twitter): @QuintusMcDonaldLinkedIn: Quintus McDonaldIM Recycling (official website): i-am-recycling.orgYouTube Podcast Feature: RU Strong and other interviewsFOLLOW THE MCMEDIA NETWORK ON SOCIALSChris Mcintyre (@LlcMcmedia) / XInstagram(3) Facebookhttps://www.tiktok.com/@christophermcinty50?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc
