Always a Teacher; Always a Coach
by Todd Gurnow
I retired from public education in 2018. I spent 25 years teaching high school English and coaching baseball and softball. In those 25 years, I was able to create relationships that lasted a lifetime. My former students still tell me that I taught them about life, just as much as I taught them English, or how to improve their skills in baseball or softball. That's why I'm here. I just want to talk about life, education, sports...whatever you'd like me on which to elaborate. You will set the tone, theme, and direction of the podcast.

This one is a head-scratcher. What's the answer? Check out my poll and voice your opinion. If someone points out something in your life that is a stumbling block, who's problem is it...yours or the other person's?

Raw
Today's episode is a rambling bunch of nothing. I apologize...it never really went anywhere, but I thought I'd post it anyway. It pretty much encapsulates the last couple of weeks.

IYKYK
One of my listeners asked the question...How did you know that Debbie was "the one"? I'll take you through the process...it wasn't much, as you'll notice when you listen.

Stream of Consciousness
Thoughts running through my mind...no rhyme or reason. Just thought I'd pop on here and say a few things. Even added a different music background.
-
Escape (Pardon the Interruption)
What good does an escape do? In my opinion, very little. While getting away from it all is good and sometime necessary, without the right mindset, it can make matters worse. And how you escape might be add more issues and make life more difficult. I'd love to hear your opinions and your feedback.

Caregiver Paradox (Part Two)
We continue the discussion of self-care (or lack thereof) for caregivers in our situation. This is the final installment on this topic for now. Please give what is talked about some thought and see how it can be applied in your life.

Caregivers Paradox (Part One)
After a touching question submitted to me, I start down the long road of trying to explain the paradox of caregiving. This will take a few episodes, and I want to emphasize that EVERYONE can get something from these episodes, whether you're nearing the decision on what to do for your parents as...
