America's Most Haunted Radio talks with THE AFTERLIFE FILES creator Todd Moster. An effort to mount one of the most ambitious and decisive scientific explorations of Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP) launched January 28 on crowd-funding website Kickstarter.com. THE AFTERLIFE FILES aspires to be a combined scientific expedition and 13-episode TV series designed to get to the bottom of EVP claims. Featuring a collaboration of experienced EVP researchers, skeptics, mainstream scientists, and families seeking contact with departed loved ones, the series will document a landmark effort to solve one of the greatest mysteries of all time. The Kickstarter project is wildly ambitious at $500k and only 40 days long, but "there are a lot of people out there who are fascinated by this subject. If we can reach them and get them to back us with a contribution that's comfortable for them - it could be just $10, $50, $100 or more - we may be able to go into production as early as April," says Moster, a trial attorney and well known executive recruiter in the legal profession, who also created the EVP short documentary BREAKING THE BARRIER. On this week's episode of America's Most Haunted Radio, we talk with haunted music pioneers Midnight Syndicate. For almost two decades, Northeast Ohio-native composers Edward Douglas and Gavin Goszka have been known as Midnight Syndicate, creating symphonic soundtracks to imaginary films that facilitate a transcendental and adventurous escape into the secret dimensions of the mind's eye. To many of their fans, they are gothic music pioneers brewing a signature blend of orchestral horror music and movie-style sound effects. To others, they remain the first "haunted house band" that forever changed the Halloween music genre and became a staple of the October holiday season. After seventeen years, fourteen studio albums, three soundtracks, and a motion picture, for the recently completed 2014 Halloween season, Midnight Syndicate teamed up with the world famous amusement park, Cedar Point, to launch their first live performances. Midnight Syndicate Live! Legacy of Shadows -- a multimedia horror-themed concert blending live music, theatre, and film -- ran weekends at Cedar Point's 18th annual HalloWeekends event. The multimedia horror music concert was called "top-notch and ambitious," "brilliant and artistically creative," and "a must see" by audiences and press alike. "We couldn't be happier with how the show came together," said Edward Douglas, "The response and entire experience has been amazing."

The six-episode first season of GHOST STALKERS premiered Sunday, October 19 and now airs at 10pE/9C on Thursdays.

The Haunted Housewives -- Theresa Argie and Cathi Weber -- have become one of the leading paranormal investigation teams in the country, contributing their ghostly adventures to the America's Most Haunted book, of which Theresa is co-author with Eric Olsen; leading a number of fundraisers for worthy historic locations; and winning their episode of paranormal competition show Paranormal Challenge. On May 31, 2014, SLENDERMAN went from fictional Internet meme to household word when two 12 year-old Wisconsin girls lured a friend into the woods and stabbed her 19 times in an effort to earn the favor of the faceless, elongated, dark-suited figure. A few days later, an emotionally disturbed 13 year-old girl near Cincinnati attacked her mother with a knife in their kitchen in the guise of Slenderman. These real life homages are all the more disturbing because the creation of the character is readily traceable to writer Eric "Victor Surge" Knudsen on the "Something Awful" Internet forum in 2009. But as the most powerful memes do, this one seeped into the very fiber of online culture to the extent that five years later young girls were willing to kill for it. Interestingly, AMHRadio was ahead of the Slenderman Zeitgeist. On the March 11, 2014 episode with documentary filmmakers JOSH ZEMAN and RACHEL MILLS, whose urban legend films CROPSEY and KILLER LEGENDS expose the terrifying truths behind the myths, we discussed the the Slenderman meme, with Zeman uniquely declaring the character to be the very personification of the Internet. Now Zeman and Mills return to discuss developments in the Slenderman saga and what may lie ahead.
