Amy spends yet another day at the hospital. This time it's a 4am scare and a zombie leg diagnosis "that could be fatal." Spoiler alert: ...nah, I'm not gonna tell you.

Like everything else about late in life pregnancy, picking a name hasn't been easy, either. Unlike the first, where we had a name with months to spare, with just a week to go we're still wondering, considering and tossing about - and then out - ideas.

Don't buy into the "we have to buy everything" baby myth. So many great friends - so many things they've finished using with and now are happy to have out of their home and into yours as they're done with the whole baby thing!

Nutrition is vital no matter how old you are. it's especially so for older moms and moms-to-be. What you eat now and how much can change whether the pregnancy is a healthy one. Nothing like a nasty surprise - in this case what Amy calls a zombie leg. Varicose veins can carve a road map on your skin. And that's just the beginning. The discomfort after a day on your feet working is no fun either!

Mexican food is delicious It also has some medicinal qualities. So say those who know of such things. It's also used, at times, to help expectant mothers to move the whole birthing thing along. But, when it's not expected...you go to not one, but two hospitals.

The good news: Amy's pregnant. The bad news: Scott's position at work is eliminated. Not the kind of math that works well when there's soon to be another mouth to feed.

We visited a fertility doctor to get a better understanding of why we weren't getting pregnant. The answer wasn't good. The odds were definitely against us.

There's a lot of waiting involved when you're trying to get pregnant. And that extra time can try your patience and be bad for the patient (see how we did that?)
