In an episode recorded before Download, Andy gives some recommendations for Scott to listen to.  All this and the usual shenanigans and nonsense.

  2. 58

    Episode 52: Andy's not small

Theres been a takeover! This week, the wives have taken over. Passing the year barrier, Rachel and Sonia join in with questions to try and catch the lads out.

  3. 57

    Episode 51: Slam Dunk!

This week the lads got together to discus the 2026 Slam Dunk experience. Outside of the bands, did Andy do the right thing bringing a chair?  How did the kids do with their 1st festival experience? If you went to Slam Dunk, let us know your thoughts and check out @mygigclips on TikTok for videos of the day.

Episode 50: We don't know either

As professional as ever, this weeks pod is being released late due to a 'technical' fault. The lads realised as sitting down to record episode 51, and they cant remember what the hell they spoke about either.     So rather than getting a refresher and doing this properly, the executive decision was made to 'go in raw' and upload so we can all be surprised together.   So sit back and enjoy!!!

Episode 47: Race you to the bottom

After a week away, the boys are back. We get an update on what the boys have been up to, Scott with old man injuries from sleeping whilst Andy is loving his new career change. Andy has been taking a look into facts on sleeping and what their brains (such as they are) are really doing whilst they sleep.  Drinking habits are starting to change with the sleep talk turning to the love of good old Yorkshire tea. So grab a cuppa, get your headphones in and join in with the lads.

  7. 53

Episode 46: You had me at 3 Mexicans

This week the lads a having a Sunday morning catch up on Andys new life away from being a chef, how is he coping with life away from the kitchen?  Has he turned into Gordan Ramsey at home, shouting at the kids for burning their Corn Flakes?

  8. 52

    Episode 45: Fashionably late

1st of 2 pods for this week.   Thanks to a breathtaking level of procrastinating from Scott, this is the episode from 28th March, published a weeks late. Scott has blamed the clocks changing that weekend.  Thats his excuse and he's sticking with it!   Amongst the usual nonsense, Andy is gearing up for his last shift as a chef.

  9. 51

Episode 44: I'm the captain now

This week on the pod, the lads dive headfirst into one of football’s most heated rivalries as they break down the Newcastle vs Sunderland derby — from its war-torn origins to why it still means absolutely everything today. With a cup final on the horizon, there’s also chat around the League Cup and why it somehow goes from “pointless” to “massive” depending on who’s in it. Away from football, Andy is in his final week in the kitchen before swapping chef whites for scaffolding poles, so there’s a look ahead to life on the tools (and whether he’s actually built for it). Things take a turn when Andy flips the script with a Who Wants to Be a Millionaire-style quiz… which, spoiler alert, does not go well. At all. Football, career changes, and one of the worst quiz performances you’ll ever hear — what are you waiting for?  Have a listen, play along with the quiz and let us know if you can beat Scott

  10. 50

    Episode 43: I've had a few shocks

In this weeks pod, along with the usual nonsense, Andy and Scott have gone the more civilised route again, recording on a Sunday morning with a coffee, as opposed to Sunda evening with a pint and a whiskey, will they sound more credible?   Scott has been taking a deep dive into some of the work the Blink 182's Tom DeLonge has put into UFO disclosure, hitting the perfect sweet spot of the lads love of pop-punk and conspiracy theories.  At this stage, we really should be asking why its taken 43 episodes for this to come up.   Andy has another quiz for Scott as well as some big news on the career front, has he finally created the OnlyFans foot page hes been talking about?

  11. 49

Episode 42: Zero G, Zero Clue

This week, the lads accidentally stumbled into their most important investigation yet: the complete and total collapse of gravity.   Yes — while the rest of the world went about its business, these two brave intellectuals dedicated a full segment to “Project Anchor,” a theory suggesting Earth’s gravity will politely switch off for seven seconds. Sensible questions were asked. None were answered. Leeds was written off entirely.   In a shocking twist, the episode was recorded on a Sunday morning fuelled by coffee instead of the usual Sunday night mix of beer and questionable decision-making. The result? Slightly clearer sentences. Marginally fewer slurred conspiracy endorsements. The same level of scientific accuracy.   Between discussing planetary alignments, floating pints, and the logistical nightmare of mid-air urination, this became the biggest talking point of the show — mostly because once you start imagining Andy drifting past the Sky tower, it’s hard to move on.   Gravity may still be intact.   Their credibility? Less certain.

  12. 48

Episode 41: That's where the money is

Andy has had a busy week.  In his quest to master social media he has working on content and the pitfalls of listener feedback. The lads also cover some cooking techniques with Asda teasing Scott in the reduced section. Keep the feedback coming and get involved: Facebook:  Andy and Scott's social podcast TikTok: @andy.scott.social

  13. 47

Episode 40: He didn't choose the jeans. They chose him

This week the lads have taken the professionalism to the next level and finally introduced some intro music!  They're excited, what do you think?   Also this week, Scott introduces an intresting question - what is the best opening track on a debut album.  We get his top 3, do you agree?   Andy has a music quiz, and because we know Scott doesn't do well on these, Sonia and Rach join in, can Scott win a round. Finally, a new section for the pod.  Ivy wrote a bit on dinosaurs from her school work so Andy reads it out.  This could be a winner, get involved and send something in for the lads to read out so they can get themselves educated!

  14. 46

Episode 39: Aaaaaaand relax, or not

The lads catch up with a debrief and chill after the Kitchen Nightmares episodes.......Although, Andy is now back at work, is he still as chilled as he was after his spa last week?   Also, on the day of recording, Scott has had a wardrobe malfunction whilst out and about in Castleford. Scott puts Andy under pressure with a general knowledge quiz.  How does Andy handle the pressure?  Better than Scott can?  Have a list and find out.

  15. 45

Bonus: Kitchen Nightmares - Part 2

2nd and final part of the kitchen nightmares episode recorded with some of Andys fellow professionals in the hospitality industry.   The questions get a bit more in depth now - we look at kitchen industries, nightmare customers.   Some of the answers coming out has already got Scott wanting to do another episode!

  16. 44

Bonus episode: Kitchen Nightmares - Part 1

In this special bonus episode, Andy ropes in a few of his long-suffering restaurant colleagues to talk about life in the kitchen.   They cover what they love about the job… and then spend a much longer time discussing the things that haunt them to this day.   Expect stories of chaotic services, questionable decisions, unforgettable customers, and the very real injuries that somehow count as “just part of the job”. Burns, cuts, limps, scars — all worn like badges of honour.   It’s a calm, reasonable look at the restaurant industry. (That last sentence is a lie.)   If you’ve ever worked in hospitality, this will feel painfully familiar. If you haven’t, you may never look at your plate the same way again.

  17. 43

    Episode 38: Andys holiday

A short pod this week.   Andy and Scott having having a quick catch up on the week whilst preparing to record the much anticipated kitchen nightmares episode. Has Andy found a way to chill and relax in his week off work?  Has he calmed down after being so stressed over Christmas? Tune in and find out!

  18. 42

Episode 37: Brute force and ignorance

Welcome back! After reading part of some of Rachels smut last week, Andy has stuck to his word and written his own sexy story for Scott to read.  Surely this cant get weird and awkward can it?  Does Andy have a future as a writer? Rachel also joins for a bit to add some context from the chapter of her book Scott read the week before. Scott has had an interesting week following social media, watching stranger things fans whip them selves into a frenzy over nothing with the imaginary episode 9 (Conformity gate). All that and the usual shananigans, pop your headphones in, get comfy and join the lads for a chat.

  19. 41

Episode 36: Romance section? Nah, this is cardio!

Happy New Year! The 1st pod of 2026 and the lads are back and in planning stage. Andy wants to set some targets for 2026 with some goals for personal growth?  Do you set any resolutions or do you have any plans for 2026?  Get involved and let the lads know! In a swerve from the norm, Andy has a section for Scott to read from one of Rachs 'adult romance' novels, so we really had to make sure the explicit button was hit this week! Scott is pretty sure that if he'd wrote this, he'd end up on some kind of watch list! Headphones in, sit back and get involved! Find us on face book and TikTok, under Andy Scott Social and get involved!

  20. 40

Episode 35: What day is it?

The lads are caught in that dead zone between Christmas and New Year where no one knows what day it is, what is going on, or how to function.   Too full, too tired, mildly confused, and not ready for 'normal life' yet.   General chat this week after a couple of pints in the local, so hit play, sit back and join us in abandoning the concept of weekdays.   Welcome to the grey area.

  21. 39

Episode 34: Andy plans a getaway, Scott gets choked

No theme. No plan. Just vibes. 🎙️   This week, the lads ditched the Christmas theme and had a proper catch-up. Andy’s realised he’s got holiday days to burn and is seriously considering disappearing for a few days on his own… a plan he may not have fully thought through once Rachael finds out.   They also get an unexpected studio visit from Sonia, who briefly pops in and casually demonstrates how easy it is to put Scott in a choke. Educational. Humbling. Slightly concerning.   A relaxed, slightly chaotic chat — exactly how podcasts were meant to be.

  22. 38

Episode 33: Krampus, kisses and mayhem

This week, the lads talked Krampus and mistletoe history, the darker side of christmas. However, the wives joined in and had other plans (apologies in advance). Cue festive chaos, rogue tangents, and a Christmas episode even Krampus would shake his head at.

  23. 37

Episode 32: The Great Die Hard debate

This week, the lads dived into the annual ritual of pretending we’re all chill about Christmas… while secretly eyeing up the mince pies in Tesco the second Halloween ends. They're the wise men of the festive debate.........minus the wisdom, gifts, and any sense of direction. The big festive question: when is it actually acceptable to start celebrating Christmas? Andy reckons there should be rules — written, laminated rules — about when it’s okay to put the tree up, blast Mariah, or start panic-buying Terry’s Chocolate Oranges. Scott, meanwhile, just wants everyone to calm down and let him enjoy his turkey when he’s good and ready.   And then came the real battle: Is Die Hard a Christmas film?   Scott delivered his full rant — complete with logic, passion, and the sort of energy normally reserved for VAR decisions.  It got heated. It got festive. It got… weirdly deep for two blokes having a beer.   If you’re pondering your own Christmas cut-off point (or if you just enjoy grown men arguing about Bruce Willis in a vest), this one’s for you. Sit back and chill, press play, and get involved.

  24. 36

Episode 31: Sea what we did there?

Strap on your water wings - this week the lads are going off at the deep end. Scott bravely plummets into the hadal zone — the underwater nightmare trench where sunlight, joy, and common sense go to die. It’s essentially the ocean’s version of “don’t come in here,” so naturally Scott went in anyway. Andy then unleashes a set of sea stories so distressing they may qualify as emotional waterboarding. Expect mystery splashes, cursed ships, and at least one creature that definitely hasn’t been approved by science. Next up: The Quiz. A “Top 10 Highest-Grossing Sea Movies” extravaganza. Listeners are legally (OK, emotionally) obligated to grab a pen and paper and play along to see if they can do better thank Scott. Spoiler: they absolutely can. And of course, the finale: mermaids. Majestic. Mythical. Almost certainly plotting something. Andy dives into tales of these fishy temptresses while Scott tries not to picture one sliding headfirst through the studio door.

  25. 35

Episode 30: Corporal Jackie, reporting for Pod duty.

Recorded a week late, Andy & Scott mark Remembrance Day in our own way: a mix of remarkable tales of bravery, a few lighter historical gems (including the unbelievable story of Corporal Jackie the monkey!), and their usual chat, metal riffs, and questionable humour. A warm, respectful nod to the past… with the those 2 inevitably wandering off into the weeds along the way.

  26. 34

    Episode 29: Halloween

Recorded late, and posted even later, Andy and Scott have a look into haunted locations and items after halloween. Would you stay in a haunted house overnight?  Should Sonia let Scott stay in Eastfield drive (Pontefract) one night?

  27. 33

Episode 28 (Part 2): Serial Killers

Part 2 of 2:   Back after the break in recording! Jump back in to join the lads in a discussion around serial killers.

  28. 32

Episode 28 (Part 1): Serial Killers

Part 1 of 2 No, this weeks pod isnt ridiculously long, a recording mishap caused a break which cut into 2 epsiodes!   Keeping with the horror theme for Halloween, this week Andy has looked into serial killers! The guys also discuss their thoughts on watching the horror movie classic 'The Entity'.   All this and the usual catch up and nonsense.

  29. 31

Episode 27: Whats the secret handshake?

As discussed in episode 26, Andy & Scott have taken a look into cults this week, and its amazing how some of these start to stray into the conspiracy theories (check out episode 20).  Are the Hollywood elite part of the occult?  And what would happen if Ozzy osbourne, Russell Brand and David Blaine had a love child in Victorian times?  The answer to that question has suckered the lads in to join and they're planning matching tattoos as a result!   We also get to Andys take on the Exorcist.  Spoiler alert, he's really not impressed and Scott is ready to fight on this one.  Could episode 27 be the final episode, or can the boys get past this point?

  30. 30

    Episode 26: Milestones

This week we hit an its time for a pat on the shoulder as episode 26 hits the 6month mark of Andy & Scott social. Andy has taken a bit of a deep dive into different milestones and what they mean to people.  Scott has gone in the other direction and prepared a work based appraisal for Andy. The usual nonsense, plus a bit of planning, find us on Facebook or TikTok to drop a message on what you'd like to hear us ramble about.

  31. 29

    Bonus episode: Gig Special

In between episodes 24 and 25 has been a flurry of gigs. Straight after recording episode 24, Andy and Scott went straight into Leeds for an awesome night watching Lastelle who were awesome, supported by Blight Town who they'd also recommend. From there, Scott took his family to London to see Wargasm playing at HERE at the Outernet.  This is an interesting night including squeaky bum time with age restriction requirements and ultimately, a fantastic night. And then Andy and Rach spent a day at Novocaine in Sheffield.  A whole day of bands.   Pull up a chair and listen to the break down, were the bands good?  Who do they recommend?  Open your Spotify, Apple, Amazon or whatever music service you use and get ready to listen to the recommended bands.   Spoiler alert, in the pod, Here are the list of bands and some of Andys thoughts on them: the five hundred They were awesome, a new style of metal and and energy which was so refreshing they had a song called rain maker and it just went off mosh pits, walk of deaths and head banging songs 10/10   Bleed again They were the highlight of the day for me and I got the chance to have a chat with them when I bought some merchandise, they were just so humble and appreciated that we took the time to say hi and genuinely think I made some new friends.they played a song called black heart and it got me in the feels I love when metal bands tone it down a touch and then do a big finish.10/10   Dacara  A female fronted band, if you like enter shikari and spirit box this band is the best parts of both them band some sing along bits and you genuinely just lose your mind watching them I highly recommend you see them.8/10   Night thieves A female fronted band, I wasn’t keen to start with the music was mint but you couldn’t hear the singer clearly but when they adjusted the sound the last 4/5 songs were really good the song I really liked was through the looking glass a solid 7/10   Reanimate A local band from Sheffield must of had a good following we missed half the set which I’m a bit gutted about but I needed a sit down I’m just gonna have to accept I’m getting old. But they were awesome the songs I saw. 8/10   Ocean thieves  These were phenomenal if you want good time lots of fun and song along and the guy got everyone involved they played a song called these days and the song along he got it going the crowd was quiet so he did it again it was so infectious because once you knew the words every one was singing 9/10 it’s only 9 because I just wanted more plus the shirt he was wearing Rach bought for me.   Broken empire If you like alter bridge and mastodon you will love these they came on first band we saw and I was like this is gonna be awesome and they were so tight they did a cover of locked out of heaven by Bruno mars but metalled it up and turned it into an absolute banger 8/10

  32. 28

Episode 25: Hold my pint.....I've got an idea

This week, Andy has found himself down another rabbit hole, this time on inventions.  Some great, others........... Not so much. How much of a genius was Nikola Tesla?  In the modern day, is Elon Musk sending a robot workforce up to Mars? The height of creative genius, all the way down to printing your own face on a slice of toast, none of it is safe. All of this taken into the usual intelligent, in depth review as we see if this can help Andy and Scott come up with their own genius inventions.

  33. 27

    Episode 24: First time?

This weeks pod was recorded earlier in the week as the lads had a busy weekend planned.  They are also a little bit giddy as immediately after recording, driving off into Leeds to go and see Lasetelle play at the Hyde Park Book Club. To add to the excitement, Andy also surprises Scott with a special gift live during the recording, what could it be? Theme of the week is first jobs?  What did the lads do? Did it lead into their current jobs 20+ years later?  Message in to the facebook page with stories of your first roles, what went well?  Did you have a nightmare? They also cover some highlights for what is coming up in October with a Halloween theme.  Different movie per week, can Scott convert Andy into a horror fan? No album of the week from Andy this week, but we do get his take on modern art and the art show experience. Sit down, grab a brew and chill with the guys for your weekly catch up.

  34. 26

    Episode 23: Back to school

This week we’re heading back to the classroom — 80s and early 90s style. When PE meant plimsolls and a vest, sex ed was a VHS tape older than the teacher, and dinner ladies served up ‘mystery beige’ with a side of pink radioactive custard. Forget iPads and Google — we had chalk dust, overhead projectors, and the sheer thrill of a TV on a trolley. Join us for nostalgia & banter.  Have Andy and Scott turned into miserable old men yet? Andy and Scott also get excited in the modern day, looking forward to a night out in Castleford for some music nostalgia with a 00's metal tribute band called Kerrang! Revival Band in the Lion Pub. All this and the usual nonsense.

  35. 25

Episode 22: One more for the road.

This week we went to the pub, without actually leaving the mics. 🍺 From dodgy drink choices to the strange little reasons we all love a trip down the local, we put ourselves through a quiz to decide what we’d be ordering in different situations. Along the way there’s plenty of banter, some questionable pub logic, and more frothy nonsense than the head on a badly pulled pint. If you’ve ever argued over the “right” drink for the occasion, or just enjoy the charm of pub chat without the sticky tables, this one’s for you. It is also a pod debut for our good friend Rich getting involved in the chat. Disclaimer: no landlords, bar staff, or perfectly good pints were harmed in the making of this episode.

  36. 24

    Episode 21: Ragnarok 'n' Roll

This weeks pod was recorded a few days earlier on Friday, but late at night after Andy finished work and Scotts had a few beers, what could go wrong? Main point of discussion sparked from last week conspiracy theory pod is about the apocalypse and the various ways it could happen, fun stuff!!! Scott also puts himself under his own pressure for the weekend with a garden project and some of the more usual nonsense. So settle down in your underground bunker, open a beer and listen along.

  37. 23

Episode 20: If in doubt, its Aliens!

In this weeks pod Andy and Scott have got their tin hats out and taken a dive into the world of conspiracy theories. Make yourself comfortable and get settled for a listen and let us know where you stand?  did we land on the moon?  Are Alien lizard people living in the Antarctic taking breaks in the Bermuda triangle? After a few days of partying for Sonias birthday, the boys also discuss their preferred hangover days.

  38. 22

    Episode 19: To boldly go

Its bank holiday weekend! This week Andy went full astronaut and disappeared down a black hole of space trivia.  Expect questionable facts, bad puns, and enough cosmic nonsense to make NASA nervous.  They also focus on Lionfest this weekend at the Lion pub in Castleford for some live music and fun with the families. Grab a beer, strap in, and join us for a stellar ride.

  39. 21

    Episode 18: Its a keeper

This week, we're a little sports heavy, but Andy has a round of not so quick fire questions.   we have a listener question that ends up in a a great movie idea for Andy.   Following on from last weeks bonus episode, shout out to the band Phoenix Lake that Scott has just been introduced to!

  40. 20

Bonus episode: Backstage pass, the volunteers tale

Ever wondered what goes on behind the barriers at a festival? In this bonus episode, we're joined by friend of the pod, Alex (wildling_goes_gigging) who's swapped mosh pits for hi-vis vests, spilling the secrets of some of our lesser known (but no less wild) metal festivals. Alex has found a love for volunteering at Hammerdown Festival and others so we get the lowdown on the vibe and whats involved, plus the inside scoop on what bands like the Raven Age are like backstage.

  42. 18

Episode 17: Why is that duck staring at me?

This week Andy throws some random quick fire questions at Scott, but random tangents mean its not so quick!   Sonia gets involved as Andy tries a series of dad jokes to try and make her laugh.

  43. 17

Episode 16: Its the little wins that count

This week we're quite chilled.  Andy has some interesting questions to get us thinking about superpowers.   We're proud of Sonia putting her big girl pants on and Scotts a salty pretzel.   All this, plus Andy is venturing into the world of having family in the workplace.

  44. 16

BONUS: The impact of celebrity deaths

Our 1st ever bonus epiosde, and its a sombre subject.   Sparked by a conversation around the sad passing of Ozzy Osbourne, Andy and Scott are joined by Sonia and Ruby (Scotts eldest) to talk about celebrity deaths that have had an impact on us and the 1st that we remember growing up.

  45. 15

Episode 15: Scott and Sonia are having an affair

This week we go on some random tangents based around the weeks events, including staff at the Twisted Tree thinking Scott and Sonia (his wife) are having an affair.................................. together.

  46. 14

Episode 14: While Andys away, the wives will play

Andy is on holiday this week, so Rach and Sonia have joined Scott for the usual nonsense chat.   Andy had left some questions for them and Rach is excited about wedding planning.

  47. 13

    episode 13 on the 13th

This week we cover childhood games and the North South divide in naming them.   hot takes from Andy and Andys mum gets involved with a question.   We try to see how we could fare in the world of competitive marshmallow eating, and it is not pretty!

  48. 12

    Episode 12 - A talking monkey?

This weeks pod was recorded a few days early, still licking our wounds from last weeks quiz failure. Andy came loaded with some random questions from his daughters.

  49. 11

    We're not thick, we promise.

This weeks pod started off so well.   We're positive, we're trying to motivate each other........................... The Sonia comes in with some childrens questions to show that we dont actually know anything!   We do get an update on Andys Garden though!

  50. 10

Episode 10: Scott cant perform under pressure

This week, in the aftermath of Download festival, we discuss a wide range of topics from the return to work and a dive into the world of Gravy Wrestling. Also, Scott has a spectacular failure with the dad jokes that he loves.   Catch us on Instagram at andy_scott_social   This week we're using the new recording equipment so there should be an improvement in audio quality.
