Emmie Chase, along with her husband and two children, has called Jacksonville home for the past 15 years. Her life’s journey has taught her the art of finding joy and hope in the midst of pain and suffering. She has a compassionate heart and a deep desire to offer hope to others through the love of Jesus.

They say that ‘ past is prologue’: our past directs our destiny. This rings true for me. Professionally, I spent the first thirty-seven years working in Manhattan as a cosmetic dentist. It was lucrative and very demanding work. I felt like I was wearing “golden handcuffs. ” The only way I was able to optimally perform was revisiting the days of my youth where I spent countless hours helping my dad build his incredible gardens. I spent 15 years in this form of garden therapy at my home in Bucks County, Pa before I discovered that “horticultural therapy” was a profession I could both study and share. I decided to leave dentistry, and become trained as a horticultural therapist. My lifelong training and practice of the science and art of dentistry paved the way for me to also train as a landscape designer. With these complementary certifications, I was invited to be part of a design team for creating a healing garden at the Jacksonville Mayo Clinic and ultimately moved to Jacksonville . I am also a certified spiritual director in the Episcopal church and a forest therapy guide. The mission of my business, Trey Gardens, LLC, to design garden spaces, and plant-based activities to deepen our connection with Nature to improve well-being. I work in commercial, residential, and institutional settings. I work with doctors, architects, builders, nurses, business and homeowners alike. My life purpose and passion are aligned in ways that I could never have imagined.

Together, they have built a large and vibrant family, raising five sons and enjoying the blessings of 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. What started out as a little church called “Bird Rock” in San Diego, soon became a fascinating cult. Due to being hidden from the world no Major news broadcaster has done a story. Through the course of 40 years of its existence, 3 people took their lives. Rick Lowe shares his story: I was born and raised mostly in San Diego, though we moved around quite a bit because my dad served in the military for 22 years. Despite all the moving, we always ended up back in San Diego. After my dad retired, we finally settled there for good, and I went through junior high and high school in SD. At 19, I had a bit of a panic about what I was going to do with my life and started questioning what the whole “life experience” was all about. Around that time, I joined a non-denominational church—coincidentally the same one Vincent’s dad had just started attending after having a radical life transformation himself. I didn’t know what to expect when he invited me to a small church meeting, but that night everything began to change for me. My journey really took off when I started asking deeper questions that had been on my mind for a while. I joined a Bible study called the “Who, What, Where” study. It was fascinating and actually made sense—it addressed the big questions about why we’re here. That’s also when I met Kim at a Bible study class in San Diego. Fast forward—44 years together, 5 kids, and 2 grandkids later—we ended up getting married in our church community a couple of years after meeting. Our church had three locations across San Diego, and Kim and I were in different ones at first. But a few times a year, all the groups would come together for events and gatherings as one big community. One of our pastors had a vision for something beyond just regular Sunday services. He began exploring the idea of forming a Christian community—something that would support families and help us live out God’s principles in everyday life. About a third of our church members joined in. We were inspired by other Christian communities and, after about a year of praying and considering, it felt like God was leading us in that direction. We ended up spending 32 years there. We had amazing neighbors and deep friendships, and honestly thought we’d stay there forever. But God had other plans—and here we are today, with a lifetime of memories, lessons, and experiences behind us. Bryant Nolan Jr. is a 6’7″ athlete from Rockford, Illinois, a city known for its tough environment. He grew up surrounded by poverty and hardship including violence and gangs. He lost friends to gun violence and often jail. His father was incarcerated early in his life and he was raised with his two brothers by a hard working mother. Adversity was a constant. Bryant found meaning and purpose in sports – football and basketball. The tragic loss of his brother to gun violence in 2021 deeply impacted him leaving a lasting mark and pushing him into a battle with depression. Despite it all, Bryant turned to faith and returned to church, leaning on his love for sports, which he credits with saving his life. His journey is far from over, but he stands as a testament to resilience. Christine creates the first ever major notable difference in the United Stares coast guard! She was a notable figure in the U.S. Coast Guard, especially known for her leadership and dedication especially in areas like search and rescue, Christine went from working as a USA paramedic in the states to join the USCG. While she was in the USCG, her goal was to be a flight corpsman. Christine went above and beyond her regular duties and responsibilities to complete a flight physical, get “duck” qualified. She then was relocated to where she truly wanted to be, Kodiak, AK. This is where she was truly J.I. Jane. During her time in Kodiak, she flew on many Medivacs and SAR cases.  Christine talks about rescues that stand out to her while she was in Alaska. During her first case, she flew to a very remote village to assist a man who was in an ATV accident, risking her life and putting everything on the line to save an American!. Her second case, which made it onto CNN news, was of a man attacked by five bears. Yes, 5 bears! Tune in because just this part alone will leave you speechless!  Not to say anything before this was insignificant but later will touch on a rescue of six patients stranded 820 nautical miles from Kodiak that earned her a Letter of Commendation. The Perchard award was established in 1963. Each aviation crew is able to give this award for outstanding achievements semi annually!

A left-handed pitcher, Dravecky played Major League Baseball (MLB) for the San Diego Padres (1982–87) and the San Francisco Giants (1987–89). He was named an All-Star in 1983 and played with the Padres in the 1984 World Series. In September 1988, Dravecky was diagnosed with a desmoid tumor in his left arm. He underwent surgery the following month. Dravecky returned to pitch for the Giants in August 1989 and won his first major league start of the season. In his second start, he broke his arm throwing a pitch. He retired from baseball after the season and, following a cancer recurrence, had his left arm amputated in 1991. Following his baseball career, Dravecky became a motivational speaker and author. He has written three books. Bruce VanFleet – Director of Maintenance Aviation Location: Craig Airport (JAXEX) Education: Bachelors Degree Passions: Music, Guitars, Aviation, Flying RC Planes Current Projects: Refurbishing Aircraft I worked with ITEC then. I was in the IFLY program which provided the opportunity for a real-world apprenticeship as an aircraft mechanic. I had 2.5 years of hands-on experience building, fixing, and upgrading aircraft. The A&P (power plant and air frame) license is sort of a prerequisite for flying in mission’s aviation. I was right at the end of my apprenticeship and was searching for a new organization to fly missions with. I felt called to do medical flights among other missions. I had the opportunity to visit an organization in Guatemala; so, I went for a visit. I had the opportunity to fly with their aviation director. We were going to scope out a couple of strips just north of their location. So, I hopped into our plane, and we took off.
