To bridge the summertime meal gap, Food Gatherers offers special summer food resources. Food Gatherers Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is offering “Grab and Go” meals for kids at locations throughout Washtenaw County from June 16 to August 14. At each weekly distribution, families will receive 7 breakfasts and 7 lunches for each child in the household along with shelf-stable milk. Grab and Go sites offer to-go meals for children. The Ann Arbor Summer Festival (A2SF) has announced its full lineup of events for the 2026 season! Get some highlights here, then check out a2sf.org! Since1984, A2SF has championed performing arts, outdoor entertainment, and community spirit. In addition to a nearly four-week festival each June that attracts a diverse audience of over 80,000 people and offers over 200 concerts, art exhibitions, kids activities, spectacle, and film screenings, A2SF presents compelling experiences throughout the year. Founded by Eugene Power, and established as a partnership between the City of Ann Arbor and the University of Michigan, early seasons emphasized classical music and theater, but have since become more popular and diverse in nature, encompassing a breadth of performance genres. Since launching in 1993, the National Association of Letter Carriers’ annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive has grown into the nation’s largest one-day food drive, helping to fill the shelves of food banks in cities and towns throughout the United States. With music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, the musical chronicles the last days of Jesus’ life through an iconic 1970s score. Focusing on the perspectives of Judas Iscariot and Mary Magdalene, “Jesus Christ Superstar” was originally a concept album that was released in 1970. The success of the album led to its Broadway debut in 1971 and it has been thrilling audiences ever since. The director of “Jesus Christ Superstar” is Eric Parker with choreography by Dom Glover. The music director is Dave Rains and the vocal director is Mandy Kruse. The role of Jesus is played by Nathan Goldsmith of Perrysburg, Ohio, while Judas is played by JeeMell Green of Southfield. The role of Mary Magdalene is played by Cassidy Giddens of Adrian.
