Applying Strategies for Successful Collaboration

As special education teachers, our core role centers on advocating for students, driving IEP compliance, and delivering specially designed instruction. Under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, or IDEA, we serve as primary managers of Individualized Education Programs. This means collecting accurate assessment data, writing measurable goals, and rigorously tracking progress through data collection to adapt strategies when a student needs extra support. We also bridge the gap between core content and individual needs through differentiated instruction, accommodations, and modifications to ensure students access the general education curriculum. Beyond classroom teaching, we collaborate continuously with general education teachers, families, and administrators to build an inclusive environment where legal compliance, ethical conduct, and student equity remain the top priority. My roles and responsibilities are IEP Management & Compliance: Developing, implementing, and annual
