S3:E41 - I believe, but help me with my unbelief
In this episode of the Armed & Anointed podcast, Ashley discusses the importance of aligning internal beliefs with God's promises and supernatural laws, rather than being limited by natural circumstances and self-doubt. She shared insights from Wendy Backland's book "Living from the Unseen" and reflected on her own journey of shifting belief systems. Ashley emphasized the need to occupy one's God-given space in the world, understand one's true identity as a child of God, and take thoughts captive to align them with the Word of God. She encouraged listeners to meditate on God's perspective of them and to trust in God's supernatural ability to fulfill His purpose in their lives, rather than being constrained by fear or past limitations. Ashley also shared a personal experience of receiving her true identity from God and encouraged others to seek God's view of themselves to overcome belief gaps and step into their calling.CONNECT WITH ME...→ Instagram - @armedandanointed→ Partner with me in Arbonne - Legacy Collective x Arbonne - Legacy Collective→ Looking for faith based life and business coaching? S3:E40 - Don't keep God in the emergency room of your life
In this episode of the Armed & Anointed podcast, Ashley shares about the importance of inviting God into every aspect of daily life, not just during big challenges. She reflected on her tendency to rely on her own abilities, especially in areas like health and fitness, and how God prompted her to pray intentionally over her meals and workouts, leading to breakthrough. Ashley recounted several personal stories, including finding a booster seat and her mom covering her daughter's grad dress, as examples of God's provision when she brought small requests to Him. She emphasized the verse Philippians 4:6, encouraging listeners to present all requests to God with thanksgiving instead of worrying. Ashley also shared how her growing faith led her to pray for a friend experiencing anxiety, resulting in immediate peace. She concluded by urging the community to practice inviting God into daily moments to build faith and extend His kingdom.CONNECT WITH ME...→ Instagram - @armedandanointed→ Partner with me in Arbonne - Legacy Collective x Arbonne - Legacy Collective→ Looking for faith based life and business coaching? In this episode of the Armed & Anointed podcast, Ashley discusses the biblical Parable of the Talents from Matthew 25, focusing on the themes of stewardship, faithfulness, and multiplication of God-given gifts. Ashley reflected on her own journey, sharing how she realized she was mismanaging her talents due to overwhelm and a lack of systems. She emphasized the importance of being faithful in the current season, regardless of its size, and not letting fear drive decisions. Ashley encouraged listeners to examine where they might be burying their own talents and to take responsibility for stewarding what God has entrusted to them. She also shared a personal story about how she recently implemented a system to better manage her creative ideas, leading to immediate positive results. S3:E38 - The dire need for discernment
In this episode of the Armed & Anointed podcast, Ashley discusses the importance of discernment in spiritual and everyday life. She explored key Bible verses about discernment, including 1 John 4:1, Hebrews 4:12, and Hebrews 5:14, emphasizing that true discernment comes from spiritual maturity, connection with God, and testing spirits against the Word of God rather than against other people's opinions. Ashley shared personal examples of how discernment applies to relationships, social media interactions, and business opportunities, including her experience dealing with negative comments on Instagram and making decisions about potential clients. She stressed that discernment requires practice, patience, and reliance on the Holy Spirit's guidance rather than rushing into decisions, and warned against the enemy using impatience to lead people away from God's will.CONNECT WITH ME...→ Instagram - @armedandanointed→ Partner with me in Arbonne - Legacy Collective x Arbonne - Legacy Collective→ Looking for faith based life and business coaching? S3:E37 - Radical obedience reveals Gods purpose
In this episode of the Armed & Anointed podcast, Ashley and guest Samantha Collins discussed their journey of radical obedience to God, reflecting on how their faith led them through significant life changes, including leaving and rejoining their network marketing business. They shared personal testimonies about how God's guidance manifested in unexpected ways, such as a spontaneous baptism and the decision to stay or leave their business roles despite external circumstances. The conversation highlighted the importance of faith, trust, and obedience in the face of uncertainty, as well as the challenges of letting go of offense and surrendering personal ambitions. They emphasized that obedience often requires stepping out in faith without full clarity, and that God's plans unfold in ways that may not make sense at the time. The hosts also spoke about the impact of their obedience on others, the role of spiritual covering, and the process of building a personal "Hall of Faith" through experiences of God's faithfulness.CONNECT WITH ME...→ Instagram - @armedandanointed→ Partner with me in Arbonne - Legacy Collective x Arbonne - Legacy Collective→ Looking for faith based life and business coaching? S3:E36 - Offence is a trap you can't afford to fall into
In this episode of the Armed and Anointed podcast, Ashley discusses the topic "Offense is a Trap You Can't Afford to Fall Into," sharing her personal experience dealing with a spirit of offense over a 3-month period. She described how this offense manifested physically as a weight on her chest that was only released when she prayed for the person causing her hurt, recognizing that the spirit of offense was not from God and needed to be uprooted. Ashley emphasized the importance of humility in dealing with offenses, including not over-explaining oneself to others and avoiding gossip, while encouraging listeners to bring their hurts to God rather than allowing them to fester into bitterness. She highlighted that offenses can be a trap that weigh down one's calling and spiritual growth, sharing that even valid hurts should be released through forgiveness to maintain a close relationship with God and allow His Holy Spirit to bear fruit in one's life.CONNECT WITH ME...→ Instagram - @armedandanointed→ Partner with me in Arbonne - Legacy Collective x Arbonne - Legacy Collective→ Looking for faith based life and business coaching? S3:E35 - Pastor Perspective with Alastair Sterne
In this episode of the Armed and Anointed podcast, host Ashley Russell interviewed Pastor Alastair Sterne (@alastairsterne) about his journey to faith and his book "Longing for Joy." Alastair shared how he transitioned from a non-religious background involving New Age practices and touring as a musician to becoming a Christian at age 22 after a spiritual encounter. He discussed his personal struggle with depression and how he found joy through practices like gratitude journaling, running, and connecting with nature. The conversation covered practical advice for new believers, including the importance of joining a local church, starting with the New Testament and Gospel of Mark, and developing Christian friendships. Alastair emphasized that while feelings may fluctuate, a mature faith is grounded in theological truths about God's presence and the authority of Scripture, which he encourages readers to explore through study and community.Alastair also has two books you can check out! S3:E34 - The season is over
In this episode of the Armed and Anointed Podcast, Ashley shares insights from her recent spiritual journey and Bible study in Deuteronomy 1. She discussed how God had led her to pause a previous episode about loss and grief, as she needed to go through additional healing before sharing it publicly. The main focus of this episode was the message "The Season Is Done," where Ashley explored three key points from Deuteronomy 1:6-46 about moving forward when God calls us to leave behind a season that has ended. She emphasized that when God initiates a new direction, we must respond with obedience and not stay in comfort or complacency, even when facing external challenges or discouragement. Ashley stressed the importance of recognizing who supports our faith journey and who might hinder it, noting that 10 of the 12 spies sent to scout the Promised Land brought fear rather than faith. She concluded by announcing plans to open a new low-ticket community ($97 Canadian monthly) to support people starting their calling journey, with more details to be shared on Instagram.CONNECT WITH ME...→ Instagram - @armedandanointed→ Partner with me in Arbonne - Legacy Collective x Arbonne - Legacy Collective→ Looking for faith based life and business coaching? S3:E33 - Create a testimony
In this episode of the Armed and Anointed Podcast, Ashley discusses her post about "Building a Testimony" and shared her personal journey of transitioning from being a victim of her circumstances to creating a powerful testimony through small, intentional steps. Ashley explained how she spent years reacting to her situation as a single mom struggling financially, but eventually learned to make different choices by trusting God's guidance rather than focusing on her current circumstances. She identified several mistakes people make that keep them stuck in their stories, including mistaking current circumstances for their full story, needing the complete blueprint instead of trusting the architect (God), getting overwhelmed by the full picture and never taking steps, and writing themselves off with "why me" thoughts that are actually fear masked as humility. Ashley emphasized that everyone's testimony begins with small movements in their current situation and shared biblical examples like Joshua's march around Jericho to illustrate how God's plans often don't make sense to humans but lead to incredible outcomes when we trust the process.CONNECT WITH ME...→ Instagram - @armedandanointed→ Partner with me in Arbonne - Legacy Collective x Arbonne - Legacy Collective→ Looking for faith based life and business coaching? S3:E32 - You can grieve while you grow, but you can't go back
In this episode of the Armed and Anointed podcast, Ashley discusses the topic of grieving while growing spiritually without going back to previous ways of living. She shared her personal experiences of feeling called to change directions in her business and life, including the spiritual warfare and grief that accompanied these changes. Ashley emphasized that following God's calling requires moving by faith in what is unseen rather than relying on what is visible and logical to others. She referenced Hebrews 11:8 about Abraham's faith journey and explained that calling is just the first step in a process that includes faith, obedience, character building, and eventually fruit. Ashley encouraged listeners to identify what needs to be packed or left behind when feeling called to a new direction, to recognize that grief is natural during this transition, and to resist looking back or returning to previous ways despite the discomfort. She stressed that God provides guidance and holds us by the hand through the process, and that the promised land or calling is worth the temporary wilderness journey.CONNECT WITH ME...→ Instagram - @armedandanointed→ Partner with me in Arbonne - Legacy Collective x Arbonne - Legacy Collective→ Looking for faith based life and business coaching? S3:E31 - When you dismiss the obedience, you miss the miracle
In this episode of the Armed and Anointed Podcast, Ashley discussed Jesus' first miracle of turning water into wine, exploring the deeper spiritual lessons it contains. Ashley explained that the miracle demonstrates how God wants to provide for needs beyond what appears necessary, emphasizing that faith and obedience are essential components for receiving miracles. She highlighted how Mary's faith and obedience to do whatever Jesus told the servants to do was crucial to the miracle's occurrence. Ashley shared her personal experience of how God asked her to put down a successful network marketing business, which initially made no sense but later led to greater blessings when she restarted in a new way. She emphasized that sometimes God asks for "water" (obedience to difficult steps) before providing the desired "wine" (blessing), and that willingness to make multiple trips to the well without understanding the full timeline is essential for receiving God's blessings.CONNECT WITH ME...→ Instagram - @armedandanointed→ Partner with me in Arbonne - ashleyrussell.arbonne.com→ Looking for faith based life and business coaching? S3:E30 - How loyalty can walk you out of God's will
In this episode, Ashley discussed how loyalty can prevent people from following God's will, sharing her personal experiences with this struggle. She explained that loyalty from a place of fear or wounds can mask disalignment with God's plan, using the example of Abraham leaving his home without knowing where he was going by faith. Ashley described how she had to make difficult decisions, including stepping away from her successful network marketing business despite the guilt and potential repercussions with team members. She emphasized the importance of being loyal to God's calling rather than staying committed to circumstances, environments, or people that no longer align with one's spiritual path. Ashley encouraged listeners to examine what they might be loyal to that keeps them out of God's will and to focus on holding tightly to God's vision while remaining flexible with the plan of how it unfolds.CONNECT WITH ME...→ Instagram - @armedandanointed→ Partner with me in Arbonne - ashleyrussell.arbonne.com→ Looking for faith based life and business coaching? S3:E29 - Feeling out of place comes before feeling aligned
In this episode of the Armed and Anointed Podcast, Ashley Russell discussed her personal experience of feeling out of alignment and out of place as she transitions to a new season in her life. She shared how she had a difficult day when people she used to be close with in her day-to-day life began to distance themselves, creating a sense of loneliness despite having supportive people who understand her current identity. Ashley explained that this feeling of disconnection is natural during life transitions, particularly when moving from one season to another, and emphasized the importance of sitting with these emotions rather than avoiding them. She discussed how God meets people in their pain and encourages them to continue following His path even when it's uncomfortable, highlighting that feeling out of place is often a necessary step before achieving true alignment with God's plan. Ashley also shared insights about the Greek words for spirit and soul, explaining how aligning with God requires renewing one's mind and emotions to be in harmony with the divine.CONNECT WITH ME...→ Instagram - @armedandanointed→ Partner with me in Arbonne - ashleyrussell.arbonne.com→ Looking for faith based life and business coaching? S3:E28 - Resistance doesn't mean it's wrong, it means you're moving
In this episode of the Armed and Anointed Podcast, Ashley discusses the concept that resistance doesn't mean something is wrong, but rather indicates movement toward one's calling. She explored several key points about navigating resistance, including how starting something new always feels unstable, movement can be threatening to both people around us and in the spiritual realm, discomfort is a natural part of following a calling, and resistance feels stronger when we haven't surrendered to God's plan. Ashley emphasized the importance of surrendering to God's guidance rather than trying to control everything ourselves, and discussed how covering our calling through prayer removes unnecessary resistance. She shared personal experiences from her own journey of starting a podcast and business, including periods of uncertainty and loss before experiencing growth.CONNECT WITH ME...→ Instagram - @armedandanointed→ Partner with me in Arbonne - ashleyrussell.arbonne.com→ Looking for faith based life and business coaching? S3:E27 - Marked by God with Jay Robinson
Ashley welcomed Jay Robinson (@1jayyrobinson on Instagram) to the Armed and Anointed podcast, where Jay shared his inspiring journey from a young music producer to finding his purpose in serving God. Jay described how he grew up in a Christian household but struggled with balancing his musical ambitions with his faith, particularly after receiving a promising opportunity from Def Jam at age 16 that his parents discouraged. He detailed a pivotal moment in July 2020 when he experienced a spiritual deliverance during a family intervention that led him to fully surrender his musical career to follow God's calling. The conversation explored themes of spiritual authority, generational faith, and the challenges of stepping away from a built life to follow God's purpose. Jay emphasized that while God's gifts are irrevocable, true fulfillment comes from using them in alignment with one's divine purpose rather than pursuing worldly success independently of God's will.CONNECT WITH ME...→ Instagram - @armedandanointed→ Partner with me in Arbonne - ashleyrussell.arbonne.com→ Looking for faith based life and business coaching? In this episode of the Armed and Anointed podcast, Ashley discusses how to recognize and respond to God's calling in one's life. She explained that calling isn't always about clear direction but can also manifest as desire, disruption, or dissatisfaction. Ashley emphasized the importance of obedience in following God's call, sharing personal examples of how small acts of obedience led to meaningful experiences. She discussed the cost of answering God's call, which often requires letting go of comfort and familiar circumstances. Ashley stressed that true freedom comes from aligning with God's will rather than seeking approval from the world. In this episode, Ashley discusses the concept of "Your Process Becomes Your Authority." She shared her personal experience of going through a refining period and how sharing her process openly on social media helped establish her authority without needing to appear perfect. Ashley emphasized that vulnerability without victim mentality is key, and that people resonate more with authentic processes than with shallow authority. She explained how sharing personal experiences and thought processes can help connect with an audience on a deeper level, using examples from her own journey and from other content creators. She shared her personal journey of transitioning out of network marketing and going through a refining period where she lost her previous identity and visibility. Ashley explained how this process helped her understand the difference between loving her craft and focusing on the spectacle, and the importance of letting God magnify her work rather than seeking recognition from the world. S3:E2 - Should spirituality and healing be turned into a business?
In this episode I cover how leaders can get lost when they turn spirituality and healing into a business. From tiered healing programs that capitalize off ‘Spiritual Bouj’ and plant medicine ceremonies, to always outsourcing healing as something you constantly have to search for. When we get addicted to ‘shadow work’ we forget that we are made of the light and have the ability to heal on our own. I share my experience at events like this, what I learned and how it felt to be vulnerable and then pitched a program when my internal wounds were brought to the surface to bleed out. Healing and spirituality are good, but when it turns into a money making machine we can lose the plot quickly.

S2:E2 - Becoming a Peace Maker
In this week’s episode I talk about becoming a peace MAKER in your life, instead of being a peace keeper. Have you ever had to change parts about you to belong? Or quiet your voice when you want to speak but fear not being accepted? That’s keeping the peace for the sake of others at a loss to your peace. Maybe it keeps the peace externally but by doing this we create internal chaos for ourselves, build up resentment, and set the standard that what we want and who we really are doesn’t matter. So lean in, press play, and if you haven’t yet, head to my Instagram links (@toughasamother) to signup for the Unfiltered Women Community email list where I’ve linked a resource to help walk you through questions to find where you’re still peace keeping in your life. Time to fuck it up.

S2:E1 - The growth path that led to UNFILTERED WOMEN
I know how to trust a sign, and when my last ‘re-entry’ episode cut the sound off at the 11 minute mark, I knew there was a reason. The reason was realizing that this podcast is no longer a place where I can allow myself to be completely unfiltered, the growth journey I just went through ripped away any shreds of filter I still had, and now this needed to become about YOU. About creating a community where I can truly help women step into their power after walking the path myself. It’s time to shed the filters and the masks we’ve put on as we’ve walked through life and become UNFILTERED WOMEN. So welcome back, I’m so excited to go on this journey with you. It’s time to get to work, press play.If you enjoyed this episode, head to my Instagram page ( @toughasamother ) and join the email community to receive episodes first, get full break downs of the behind the scenes, and resources to support you moving through the phases that feel lonely and unclear. As a new podcast (and always really) your shares, tags, and reviews, mean the world to me.Xo, Ashley Russell - host of the Unfiltered Women Podcast.

How to master the art of following through for yourself
Ashley goes over how not following through on the things you say you'll do is actually costing you the success and life you’re dreaming of. Whether it’s in your business, relationships, personal relationship, fitness, it doesn’t matter. If you have no trust in yourself, it doesn’t matter what goals you set because the internal story is clear and it’s that you aren’t someone who is going to show up for yourself. We need to let go of immediate gratification and responding to everything we feel in the moment and become people who back up what we say with action and actually create the success we say we want and leave the entitlement behind. Choosing comfort now is creating a life you’re uncomfortable in, so let’s get to work and master the art of following through for ourselves!
