We're wrapping up our fourth season of the As You Are podcast! Once again it's been a season of terrific guests! We've explored Enso partnerships, forming businesses, guiding the field of AI, artists and arts organizations adapting, and unlocking potential. Thank you to our listeners for your ongoing support!

Founded in 1988, the Vortex has established a home for artists (and butterflies) that is distinctly Austin. Combining their values with business savvy, this theatre company has navigated an ever evolving city maintaining their distinct brand -- including opening up their own bar and partnering with a favorite Italian food truck. This week we interview Lara Toner Haddock, the Producing Artistic Director of Austin Playhouse. Austin Playhouse (AP) formed in 2000, and Lara delves into how the theatre company has maintained its loyal base (including surviving the pandemic); how they center artist and staff growth; and their heroic efforts to create a permanent space that will support not only AP, but the broader community, as well. Lara is a passionate leader invested in people, which shines through this episode!

Austin's theatre scene is rich with musical theatre talent but lacking in productions. Luminaries, Sarah Fleming Walker and Adam Roberts, saw this gap and created Entr'acte -- a company that produces fully realized concerts of shows rarely produced and their cabaret series.
