She also serves as Professor of Human Development and Family Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin and as the Editor for the Journal of Research on Adolescence. Previously, she has held the position of editor for Cultural Diversity and Ethnic Minority Psychology, and Associate Editor for Developmental Psychology. Dr. Kim is also a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, the Association for Psychological Science, and the Asian American Psychological Association. Dr. Su Yeong Kim’s research studies the influence of cultural heritage and acculturation in the development of children and adolescents in immigrant families. She has developed a theoretical framework on bilingualism that integrates language proficiency, use, and subjective experience, which has since become internationally recog
